I ordered a set of plans from Nexus scale plans in the UK. almost a month ago. Is it normal to take this long to get something from the UK? Thanks

Rich,
If I recall that sounds about right. I would think 3 weeks would be closer to the norm. I ordered some dwgs once and when they hadn't arrived for a month i called and they shipped a second set. the first set finally did arrive and they told me to just keep both.

Nexus scale plans
Hi Rich:
That's the web address I had for them, it does not seem to be working. The web page says it's Highbury House Communications which may have taken over Nexus publishing, but I don't see any link to the plans service.
Someone must have taken over the plans service, we'll just have to find out who.
cheers, terry.

The site does seem to be being ignored at the moment but the long wait is normal for this company!

Just thought I'd tell you Americans that whenever we here in Europe order anything from across the Atlantic it invariably takes two months or more. I once ordered a set of plans from Canada a in early september and received the just in time for my Christmas holidays.
We do have the option of using speed delivery services like Fed-Ex, but they usually charge more than the cost of the stuff we are getting.

They are a godawful useless mob to deal with.
Asked a cretin there if she could send the drawings rolled (I phoned them from Australia) and she told me they could if I provided the tube. I gently tried to get across that I phoned from Oz, and it would be somewhat unpractical. But no, I had to provide the tube.
I copied the plans (Chorus Gull) from the magazine, and it worked out ok.
If you have half a chance, stay away from them. Flintstone outfit!!

My orders arrive here in Oz about two weeks after ordering.
Same with Micromark and Microfasteners.
Quicker than getting the stuff from the Eastern States (Aussie ones, that is).

RE: Nexus scale plans
It took Rcstore 8 weeks to ship a plan from the US to the UK, so I guess the reverse could be true. I now ask if they can fold the plans, they come quicker [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
If you dont get a reply, just keep sending the emails, they will eventually reply. If not a quick Fax (cheaper than phone call) will also get a reply.

May i suggest a trip to their online forum (http://www.modelflying.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi) This is the site they advertise in every RCM£E as their own, so when people complain there, they tend to take some notice...

RE: Nexus scale plans
If it's any consolation they are taking an eternity to send my plans too. They are based in Kent and I live at least three counties away in Oxfordshire. I'm going to e-mail them this link, in the hope they pull they're collective fingers out. If any of you guys in other countries want me to enquire for you while I'm on the phone tomorrow just send me your details (obviously not bank details) and order numbers. my e-mail is [email protected].
