It's been a real adventure and we met a lot of nice people, but our yankee brains are fried from the heat[8D] and we're ready to make the long drive back home to NE Ohio!!
BTW, that's my Bf-110 that I flew in the warbird gaggle during the noontime show. I think I was more nervous during that than the competition flights!

Did nobody get photos of your Gotha flying? Video would be even better.

Gentlemen I heard from GTM and he told me MIKE GROSS took high static at TG with his Sopwith Camel!!!!! This is great for WW-1.
Congratulations Mike, If any of you are not aware of who he is, he has been around for many years, he's from Long Island N.Y. He was the one who developed the new dummy Lerhone engine kits. He also took best of show at the Wram show. I remember he took best WW-1 back in 2002 with a SE5a at TG, Great guy great builder!

Flytoolow,
Thanks for posting the pics of the Gotha. It was my first time at TG and Dave Johnson was great for his moral support and his coaching. Thanks again, Dave!
I saw the Camel up close and it really was phenominal.

Well, the Gotha can't win because I didn't make the cut for the fourth round on Sunday. On my second round I didn't have the bombs locked in properly and they inadvertantly dropped, so I got a zero for that maneuver. The third flight went real well and I got a 93.25 score but it didn't make up for the loss of 10 points on the second round. I'm not complaining, though. I finished three rounds, the model didn't suffer any mishaps, and each flight was better than the last.

Jim,
I'm glad to hear the Gotha is coming home in one piece...The pictures do it no justice! You have to see it fly in person to appreciate it how cool of a airplane that looks and sounds in the air!
Congrats on your first Top Gun competition! We now have something else to celebrate at ODP! (Barry we need more beer!)
I know how you felt on your warbird gaggle......yesterday we did a 9 WWI plane gaggle for Von Delby in a 1/4 of the size you were flying in!
Hope some video surfaces on your Gotha!

RE: Top Gun-2012
Thanks, Paul. I'm sorry I couldn't make it to Del's Fly-In. We'll have to do another memorial Fokker gaggle at Ohio Dawn Patrol.
I'm happy to say the Gotha got an award at the dinner for "Best Biplane".
(I was really hoping for the Top Buns award but I just missed it by a hair.)
