Default B17G into an F ?

Can I turn a B17G into a F by just changing the window arrangement in the nose and eliminating the chin turret? I noticed that the F version's tail gun is a little different and has the tiny little toy gun for aiming.

Are there any major differences in the wing, fuse or tail surface outlines?

Thanx in advance...

Sure you can. The big difference is of course the chin turret. But there are some other changes to be made as well.

First the cheek guns will have to be changed to just windows rather than blisters.
Second the waist guns need to be placed across from each other rather than staggered.

The later G models did have the Chyenne tail turret, some of the early Gs and all of the Fs had the factory tail turret.

The nose glass was a bit different, but I doubt anyone would really notice it.

I think that is about all of the major things. I'm sure if there are others that people will add to the list.

Almost forgot.

The basic airframe is the same so there is no mods needed on the fuse or wings.
