here is a better shot showing the Dihedral from the rear. If you look closely you will notice the wingtips will be even or slightly above the fuse

Ok Martin Ioverlayed your drawings onto my loft and vances drawings. Since we all know drawings are done by artists not draftsmen they can vary. Since Idont know which ones vance used. Ithink Iwill stick with the ones you provided. ( Igot the rest from that site too) and design my own set based off those drawings. That way when people need documentation for competition or whatever puyrposes they will Know exactly which ones to use. Plus the fact this will be my own design.

Now onto the differences. they are very slight and normally wouldnt be any big deal, however for the reasons above Iwill be Starting over ( gee thanks a lot you a real buddy roflmao) this way we all have the reference and people can then critique better for a truely accurate set of plans.

Normally, I wouldn't have noticed but the 111 canopy is soooo distinctive, and Vance's just isn't "on". Some things you don't notice, some you do.

I like the early B models - you never see them, (as if the H version was common! HA!)

You made the right choice to start over based on solid documentation. It'll pay off in lots of ways down the line.

The dihedral angle on your 3d model looks crazy to me Joe. Am I missing something or is my eye sight just getting that bad?
I agree with Chad. The dihedral on your first version was much greater than shown in either of the 3-views posted here. The wingtips are clearly below the top of the fuselage in both drawings, while your version has the wingtips at or above the top. As for judging from photos, I'd be very careful about using anything other than a direct front view. I'd say, stick rigorously to the 3-views unless you absolutely, positively, unavoidably, have to alter something for practical purposes.

Ditto on that WOW! You clearly have all the reference material anyone could ever hope for. So it's just a matter of sticking with one. You're doing an outstanding job so far and your CAD skills are enviable!

thanks yes I am sticking with the ones that Martin Provided. I think they come from Monografie Lotnicze 012 Heinkel He-111 and Schiffer Profile.

I will use the outlines for the lofting but when it comes to detailing I will use Aero Detail as they have a ton of close up pics and detail drawings

Well Igot the main Fuse Lofted. I will work on other stuff before Ido the nose section because it is such a pain in the rear. Also it will take some time to get the wing correct. Ilooked again at mine and didnt like the way the center section looked.

well Ifinally got the new wing lofted and it looks a lot better though Ihave a few tweaks to do. The lofting part Ihate the most as it takes so much time to set everything up properly in 3D space

Ok I got the wing etc but noticed my original lofting some how was larger than the proper scale so have redone them now to the proper scale. I am working on the fin and stab right now then will try to get the nacelles to the correct scale.that is one of the fun things when designing you get everything you think is the proper scale then find out somehow the software tweaked the size on you when you export it from one prog and import it to another and forget to check. the good thing is I caught it early enough and so now am almost back to where I originally was.

heya reuben glad ya popped in. this things been a nightmare lol I noticed I need to redo the wing only because I have to adjust its location as i always like to loft things in the spot they are supposed to be rather than use points etc and mate them to points for positioning that can cause problems.

That wing is a difficult subject. By looking at the original rear 3/4 shot pic at the top of page 2 it kind of looks like the wing root is a negative incidence and has a slight gull shape transitioning into a normal positive incidence in the nacelle area out to the wing tip.

Keep it up joe, going to be a awesome when finished.

yea it does and the stab has more neg incidence which lifts the nose of the plane thus the wing neg incidence so that the plane isnt totally rising constantly.

I did get the stab lofted today and tomorrow will redo the wing.

I am happy with this wing but it is in the wrong place and I have too much negative on the wing

Does the dihedral on your new wing match your documentation? Last time it looked like too much. This time (to my uninformed eye) it looks like maybe too little.
