Default More translucent covering than solartex antique?

I think I covered my BUSA E-III 90 in Solartex antique. It is not as translucent as I thought it would be.

Please list your reccomendations for a "lighter" fabric covering that will allow the structure to show through when the sun shines behind it TIA Tom

Tom, I've given this a LOT of thought! Most people here would probably say TOO much thought! In terms of the desired degree of "translucency" I believe Solartex Antique is about right. When back-lite the structure shows though very nicely, yet, it appears opaque from up close. This is how clear doped linen should be. In contrast, what Solartex called "Linen" really is very opaque. Note that another thing that will show through antique, besides structure, is non-scale wood grain! Linen solves that problem.

This photo shows a test of Solartex swatches. You can see that text easily shows through the Antique but not the Linen. If you wanted to go even more translucent than the Antique you might have to try something exotic like silk over tissue.

Note that Solartex Antique and Solartex Linen are not exactly the same color. Personally, I think the Linen is a better (though not perfect) representation of German clear doped linen. To me the Antique is a bit too lemony.
