The four ribs on the top wing have been sanded down to size for sheeting. The balsa one's were quick the ply one's not so quick. And all four of the bottom wing ribs are ply, Woo Hoo!
Yea, the wife went to town.

The last of the laminating has been done and drying, The rear center of the top wing. The radius was a bit tight for magnets so I went another method.

Coming on a treat Robert ! totaly different build make-up to my TC pitts. Are you keeping track of how many hours your spending on it ?
I'm looking forward to see what the covering goes on like.

What a job Ace !! built this plane as a Andy SheberS-2with 62. Very nice but under powered! Just finished the Frank knoll 38% Cristen Eagle with 100 cc perfect combo with full verticle came out about 35lbs with monakote and Kirby graphics. The Andy S-2 was 28 lbs with coverite dope and perfect paint! good luck!

Pitts 28 lbs That was my first scratch built model when I was 18 years old! could have used more balsa than ply to save / but it flew well and I rigged it with giant scale Futaba servos verses new llte 8411;s like in the eagle! Red bull sceme for you to think about

RE: Andy Sheber Pitts s1s
Around 8PM I went looking into some pics a poster had suggested. In my quest I came across the RCGUYS Pitts. They have one in the exact color scheme as the yellow one that was leading the poll real well. So I decided to close the poll and will NOT be doing the yellow and black. I don't care much for the idea of being fashioned after an ARF. So for the past two hours I have been racking my brain and searching for scheme's. Someone here posted a pic of one and I think I have taken a liken to it.
Thank's to John Josey.
I had seen this one on Airliners but the angle of the pic was in a manner as to not really see it. So! The following photo is the paint scheme I have decided to go with.

Nice looking scheme, I wouldn't want to be the one trying to match those colors or maskng the stripes
Will be fun watching it come together.

Somehow, I don't know how, the last piece of wood was just glued to the top wing. Starting tomorrow I will go back to the fuse and add in strips for the panel screws and such. Then start sanding. Got to get the sanding done before the sheeting so I guess technically it's notthe last piece.

Got the ailerons cut out point marked and ready to cut off after sanding. Not gonna get anything done today. The wife went back to work so I'm getting some housework done. I will be going later to get some more aluminum to build the top wing center mount with.
Should be back to full build mode tomorrow.

Ace,
I just want to mention this, assumeing you'll use pin hinges for the controls. before you assemble the ailerons, tack or clamp the leading edge of the aileron to the trailing edge of the wing. This will be like step one for building the ailerons on your Corsair. Mark and drill through both pieces at the sametime for the hinge pins, then you'll have perfect alignment for every pin.
