One by one gettin it done. One more task down. The belly pan has been glassed. Well sorta. I don't use fiberglass, I use polyester fabric as well as polyester finishing resin. A nuch more flexibletechnique for these airframes.

I'm with you on the polyester Robert. I think when you start the covering, you'll begin to see a bit of light. I may even get a cheap ticket to come and see it fly !

Ok, maybe my control horns are too big but I really like having good ground control as well.
One of the thing's I like about these hinges and making new pins, the control surface is removeable.

It is Robert, but all i have at the moment is an e-mail confirming what i want and a delivery date of may 2013 and stating he will contact me two weeks before for payment. Repeated attemps to get a price have been ignored.

Here is a link to his site - https://picasaweb.google.com/1116209...pitInstruments#

The covering on the bellypan turned out well. Tomorrow I will give it one more coat of resin and call it done, ready for primer and paint.
JJ, I get nothing under that last link you posted.

Sounds like you are making good progress Robert.

I had a hard time finding a 1/3 scale pilot. I bought the one for my Waco at Toledo from a Roy Valiancort and went back to him a couple years later to get another one for my 1/3 Cub and he was out of them and evidently his supplier that molded them passed away. Not much available in a quality 1/3 full body pilot without paying big $$$. I wound up transfering the pilot from my crashed Waco to the Cub of course after having a stern talk with him about the incident. Looks like he will be moving back to the Waco and I will have to find something else for the Cub.
Later!!
Anthony

Thank's Anthony. I'll probably go with a toy doll soldier, strip him of his uniform and make some new duds.

Watching your speedy progress Robert got me to push on some of my projects.
Finnished 2 planes. They are ready for test flights. And back at work on the super long rebuild I started over a year ago.

almost time for flying wires! I epoxied wood blocks in place then drilled in 1/8 wood dowels through block into rib that is beefed up . went with 2-56 threaded couplers that except 90# seven strain wire with crimps that were used for off shore fishing! Then small piece of heat shrink over crimp. Seven Strand was the wire I used that has a plastic coating. once clevises were in place I used blue locktite on the on nut jammed againts the clevis . This is a quick methed at the field to get in the air fast. On my Andy Sheber Pitts I used 4-40 rod 2 in front 2 on rear like full scale with dubro clevises,, polished out ,, looked great but kept braking metal mounts! Good Luck! I like it

Easy there Ken, I'm home evryday with not much better to do. But still glad to hear it.
Billy the fishin wire is a shure fire, quick method. I will also be useing the 4-40 rods but will be useing the Dubro rod ends, they bolt down and help keep the flex to a minimum.

Good luck on finding a toy slodier at 1/3 scale. Your progress has been remarkable to this point and it's looking real good. I have a thing for biplanes although usually WWI but this makes me think a Pitts might be a cool addition in the hangar. Been watching since near the start, keep up the good work.

Thank's everyone. Been wondering where my order of little stuff is, screws, bolts, push rods, fuel line, etc.etc.etc
Well, looking through my order history for a packed and ship date I realised, I have not ordered anything. DUH!! It'll never get here.
So, I just placed an order with an in state supplier which has one day shipping.

Ah, thats a bummer robert. If you right click it, do you get the option to 'open' ?They say prices from £180, that could mean well over £200 by the time you pick out a baseball cap, harness, sunglasses, headset and watch !

Is YT international not an american company ?

thats the same bolt on clevises I used ! But make sure you use heavy/ strong metal . The 4-40 rods looked great but brackets could not take the weight and stress ! Good Luck
