Cool. Glad to hear it's still making progress!

Rickster,
I usually don't frequent the RCU web site but I just happened to stumble across your RB 51 build, I love it. That plane has been on my "to do" list ever since I was a kid, I have collected everything I could find on the plane over the years.
Are you going to do it in Monokote, or glass it and paint it? Either way your build is looking great,

Thanks for the support on the RB... It has been my fav plane since I was a kid as well...

All the flight surfaces are Monokoted. I am going to really "Try" to monokote the fuse. The horizontal stab and wings are all done so the Fuse is next..

Seems like since wind turbines got so popular the quality of balsa we see has gone to Hades in a hand basket. I was surprised to hear they are full of balsa I would think there would be a cheaper solution but I guess not. The same great characteristics that make balsa the choice for model planes makes it ideal for turbine blades.

Got the wing, flaps and ailerons done. Worked on the fuse some today and got the hatch, radiator exit door and vertical fin/ turtledeck done. Will make some more progress next weekend...

Building tables should only be cleaned after completion and during poor flying weather!

I enjoy making stuff but it is soo time consuming. Then once you make one you have to make another that is identical. Then the second one comes out better than the first so you have to make a third...LOL.. Stacks are done...

Wow...very impressive.

I'm hardly qualified to say, but is that landing gear going to hold up ok? Looks really thin to my untrained eye.

It is the gear that Hangar9 supplies/uses on the 1.5 size P-51.. It was what was flown with when it was a stock P-51..

Beautiful! I love the counter rotating props as they speed up and slow down, major cool factor!
