And here is the tubes epoxied in the fuse. Thank's Steve. I need to extend the aluminum by 5/8 and I think as suggested by mrdhud I can cut the aluminum tube in half and put a dowel inside the aluminum and spread the aluminum to it's needed width then glue it in. In the mean time I have an email sent to the mfg, if a replacement aluminum tube is not ridiculously priced I may buy it.

Sorry to say but no. The diameter is .3875, a bit of an odd size I think.

Robert,
I am surprised the aft tube does not extend further. The flying wires will carry the stress but a longer length tube would have helped without much weight penalty.
If you can turn a dowel down for a snug fit and get it epoxied in place I am sure that will be more than sufficient to carry the load.
Later!!

Anthony the aluminum tube was long enough for both. The error was in my perception of the width at the time I cut it. And my perception was short. I should have waited until the fuse was at this point for a better measurement. I am, as you speak of, thinking of cutting the aluminum tube in half (front and rear) and placing a dowel full length inside, then sliding the aluminum tube outward for a perfect fit. Once the length is set, epoxy the dowel to the aluminum.

I am waiting on the outer sleeve epoxy to cure and then I will do the dowel thing. I think it will work.

Wow Robert,
You are a super fast and dedicated builder,
I have retrieved the prints needed and will start scanning this week. Should have something to you soon.

The epoxy was set enough around the tubes for the removal of the stab. I glued in the balsa transition piece. But can't post pic because of the 500 error.

Why not get a piece of 10mm tubing and have a friend or a machine shop turn it down to .3875. I will do it for free if you ship it to me as I own a machine shop. McMaster Carr should have what you need and you could have it drop shipped to me. Let me know.

Thank's Mike that is very generous, but I think the dowel will work. Put the bottom side pine stringer's on this morning. They did not like bending in two different directions. They get capped with balsa. Once these are dry I can cut the legs off, turn it over and finish up the bottom. And as usual the 500 is here for the weekend.

Hmmm? This bird has ply formers, interlocking ply stringers, interlocking pine corner stringers, but it calls for 1/4" balsa cross bracing. Seems to me if any of the ply gives, the 1/4" balsa does not stand a chance. But, I will install it, I'm not a designer.

Boy, you can say that again VJ! I've learned that first hand myself. I couldn't have done the job I did on the Cub without everyone on these threads.

Robert, using my imagination I can tell you that looks awesome! Keep it up!

Take care,
David

Ok, more for your imagination, all the 1/4 bracing is in.

And the rudder servo tray and servo.

More to imagine, the bottom balsa stringers are installed. As well as the tail wheel ply plate, and the access panel is made and ready to screw down.

ROTFLMAO!!! Thank's Anthony. Well while you're at it imagine a fiberglass tail wheel leaf with a Corsair wheel spindle. Look's a whole lot better than the stock wire. I am waiting on an answer from Cirrus Ventures as to purchase on of his scale tail wheel assemblies. It has been a couple weeks, so I was kind of  thinking his is not happening for some reason. I changed the rear access panel from an internal screw down to dowels in the front and an external screw for the rear. That way I won't have to disturb the covering if it had to be removed.

I have added the flying wire metal mount bracket's. And I think I am done with the fuse until the bottom wing is built.

Click on this link to see photos of previous post. I will add to it as I go until the 500 is gone, then I will add them here in their place.

Hi Robert
This new plane is going to look even better.

You can beat the 500 error by using Photo Bucket and linking from there. That has worked well for me in. You might need to edit the picture size down a bit so they don't overfill the page.
