The molds are fixin to go into the oven. And, while waiting on them, I give the acro streamer some more thought. The mount brackets are in place and waiting. I am using a wheel collar as the center and the splines will be soldered into the collar. But it will have to wait, my good drill bits are at the property so it will have to sit all mocked up and waiting.

Oh, I borrowed a camera.

The arms have been brazed to the mounts.
In the beginning I said this part would be removed before flight. But, as strong as it has turned out I believe if I filled the center of the strut, as a precautionary measure, it would be fine to leave on permanently.

Nice job Robert! I'm glad to see you back to building again. Keep it up!

And I probably won't get to it tomorrow, so I'll say it now:
Happy Easter everyone! May God bless you richly!

Thanks guys. The fuel cap has been made but I can not put it in place just yet. I need to glue the fabric to the wood where the cap goes before drilling the hole to put it in. I will do that first thing in the morning.
And this cap was the last thing on my list so, having the time, I have added one more detail to do for tomorrow. The glass struts have the boots and screws made into/onto it, which don't look as good as it could. So I am going to sand those off and put my own.

I'll post tomorrow as things progress.

I really hate not being able to sit still. I sat the fuel cap in place and it took a pic, it looked good enough so here it is.

Hey, that fuel cap looks good. What is/was it? Or did you make it?

Thanks, I made it from aluminum, a washer, a dowel, and a piece of ply. The more I look at it the more the handle is bugging me, it needs to be about half that size. I may give a remake a go tomorrow.

Here is a quick mock-up with a smaller patterned handle. Definitely better, so it will get remade.

I was thinking the same about the size of the handle. That one does look better to me.

I'm thinking I want all the first article parts that Robert made and chose not to use. IMO those would still lead to a kick ass airplane.

Man! What a morning, I have all the ovens full, laundry running in two sets of machines, and I have finished the fuel cap. Oh, in the ovens you ask?
Turkey, ham, stuffing, baked beans, potatoes, corn bread, green beans, and mac n cheese.

Thanks Vincent.
Speed, sometimes you have to make it wrong to look right.
Hilton, I have no idea where that came from. The guardian works well if proper vibration buffering has been implemented.
Jim, LOL!

Robert I would say I was on the way, But I am still a ways from being able to travel, so food pics if you please. But feeling good, walking 5 blocks now. And then I go nap!

And getting a bit of plane building done. 3rd coat of finish epoxy sanded on my little wing tip plug. I don't know if I need to spray it with primer paint or just paint. It is a plug for a PoP mold for four fiber glass tips. Feels smooth to my fingers and finger nails. Last sand paper was 180 grit.

You the PoP master so thought I would ask you
