I forgot about Nelson's. I used it years back and it was good stuff. I thought
they had closed down.

Just a little heads up. I will be heading up to the MH tomorrow and I should get the model room in the MH cleaned out, cleaned up, and ready so I can do covering and paint, no not finished but usable.I am dying to get this Pitts with that Valach into the air, so much so that I am thinking about doing a simpler paint scheme. We'll see!!

I wouldn't blame you much if you did. I'm sure even your simpler scheme would be outstanding!

After all the work, and being so meticulous, are you sure that you want to settle for "instant gratification" over long term enjoymant ?

Like the alternative scheme would suck????? Not hardly, just different. And neither has been done yet. Just thinking.

Do the scheme you want! As long as it's visible, it don't matter, really

Robert you have done so much work on that plane you already have a knock out build, while the first scheme is impressive so is the work you have already done. Personally speaking, there is a number of schemes you could put on that plane that would show it well, it's a matter of colors should you decide to change the scheme. I have a feeling that what ever you do it will set it off nicely.

No matter what scheme ends up on the plane, it is going to be a great looking plane. You not so much

I just had a PM discussing some of the comments seen on the thread pages these days. I do read signatures, go figure.

Most of those comments go in one eye and out the other. There does seem to be a lot of gravy now a day's, lacking any real form of meat and potatoes.
Now as for the question regarding what scheme I was thinking of as an alternative to the Eagle. Well, I am thinking of one I liked back when I started my little Pitts and was talked out of it over the thought of it being to controversial. But, seeing as there are all sorts of "controversial" on many an airframe, such as the swastika, I am really wanting to do it. I would say I am 90% to being committed to the scheme, which I was not going to post until done. But being as I was asked here it is.

I think that's pretty mellow in today standards of controversial. Go for it, I think it looks awesome. I think a lot of the banter in the threads is just because there's nothing really going on at the time. Didn't think it was a big deal. Btw, there's a cool little documentary about the team that had the pitts with that paint scheme. Pretty neat. I'm sure you saw it.

I like it Robert looks much easier to paint and for the controversial part all it does to me is make me want a smoke LOL just kidding.

I see no problem with it. Of course, I smoke Marlboros. Which tail # are you going with? Seems to me that G-ROLL is a natural.

Not sure just yet as the one marked G-BBOH is the only one I know for sure whom the pilot was. So far I have not found any photos large enough in pixel to enlarge. I'm sure they are listed somewhere and when I get near to actual painting I will look into the names of each. That is if I stay with the big M, which I probably will do, having so many other things to do come into play of late.

As for the controversial aspect, only a smoker or ex-smoker, can truly appreciate the total attack on our choice to do so.
I'm just waiting for the day the same attitude gets focused on drinkers, which has happened before, and the day will come again.
After all, minding others business seems to be the American way now a days.
If I don't like it neither can you!!!

I remember that paint scheme option for your little Pits. Way back then I thought it was a cool choice. Still do.

The PC crowd needs a finger stuck in there eye (every time they raise there high faluten eye brow).
