The racing stripes are done. Currently putting the gold around the eagle (where applicable) and that will be it, I think. I will spend some time with the laptop doing a walk around and making sure I have every detail addressed.

Ace that looks fantastic... when you get the pinstripe around the feathers, its going to look even better... is it the same eagle image taken from her plane ,or is it slightly different... around the eye and beak... don't get me wrong that thing looks so good, its very impressive, I see some subtle differences is all.

Robert all I can say is I'm awe struck at this incredable achievement of your's. I don't know how proud a man can get and you surely should be as you have gone over the top on this one.

I posted a comment about you on Kevins build (lost track where I was) I hope you find and read it, you deserve all I said.

John M,
I have around 40 good photos of her plane and no two have the same everything, different eagle, different logos, camera and no camera, different fuel caps on wing and fuse, and so on. It does make it a little difficult to copy. I picked the photo I wanted, which happens to be the very first one I saw. Used all the rest for different angles and such for masking. Some things I even asked Jacquie about.

Just got a chance to see the eagle Robert. Very impressive to say the least! It couldn't have come out any nicer...It looks just like the real thing, well done.

Ok guys. I was just asked a question on another forum and being as I don't see it, being the builder and all, I' want your honest opinion. Would any of you enter this Pitts in a completion minded event? One such as Top Gun?

Don't get me wrong. By the responses I have received, and they have been great with one being very hear warming. I understand it is, apparently, better than I see. But I still just don't see a Top Gun contender.

Absolutely! From the changes to the structure to get the correct lines in the fabric (if I remember correctly), to the simulated stitching and pinking tape, to the metal cockpit skins as on the full scale, and near as I can tell 100% accurate paint work, it has to be at least a contender, if not champion.

Go for it Robert, How many chances in life do have this opp., like Kevin said, you`ll always wonder,.... "third place" is better than "no place",...you can`t win the lotto if you don`t play,...on and on......
Besides that, it would just be a great/fun experience...

You know guys I think I will. In October there is a big event, fun fly type though, but would be a good first outing. And give me a chance to get a feel for the environment. The next major competition event here locally is Top Gun in April/May, should be doable.

That should keep this thread and the one on the other site alive, even if not much happening till you get close.
