Those baffles put a real nice touch ace. One of the details that many would leave out.

Robert, if you were as good looking as this airplane the wife would never let you out of the house out of fear you would be kidnapped!

I think it's kind of creepy that any woman would want to date an airplane. I mean I think the Pitts S1 is one of the hottest planes of all time but if my choice is between a hot woman and a hot plane, the plane is going in the hanger and I'm not.

I have a question about high fill primer.

I've always avoided the stuff because my assumption the "high fill" is just a lot of talc. To me that means it's going to be soft and crack easily and that means it will chip off easily.

I'm always leary of putting primer on open framework anyway for that very reason and I'm talking about regular primer. I've never used high fill for anything.

Now I realize that we're supposed to sand off most of the primer but if you're using high fill then I also assume that means you're probably leaving more of it on because you actually need some fill or you wouldn't use it in the first place.

Because you're using it I'm going to also go ahead and assume that in one or more of my many assumptions above I'm wrong.

So can someone educate me a bit please? Don't feel obligated to give me a full paint course here. The Cliff's notes of the Cliff's notes should be sufficient.

Thanks.

I don't know about others but I use it as a last finite filler. And there is virtually none left behind other than a pinhole or scratch that was filled. I don't know what is in it but it works for me and I have never had any kind of issue with it peeling, cracking, or elsewise. Can't say that about many of the primers I have used including the primer made for this paint. I use self etching to aid in adhesion and high fill as a finish.

I just received word the vinyl will get shipped tomorrow so I should have it by Thursday or Friday. Still no ship date on the new canopy. But I have not been sitting still, the paint room/ model shop has been dry walled. Monday I will mud it and get the ceiling and walls prepped for paint, which won't happen until I am done painting the Pitts. If everything comes in next week then the following will be finish the Pitts week. Getting ready to head back home, just a little clean up to do.

Funny you should mention that. Today the wife says it does not look as big as where I am currently at which is 10' 6" x 16' and that room in the MH is 13'x18'. I told her it was probably the lower ceiling throwing her off. She stormed out with her usual phrase "What ever"..
On another good note, the new wheels came while I was gone.

Robert haven't you learnt yet never to counter the wife. They don't like that ya know.

The proper response is always "Yes Dear, You are correct dear"" Accourse then they will accuse you of being fascitious, and that don't go over so good either.

There is no win

LOL! I haven't said "Yes Dear" in many a years, other than in obvious sarcasm. Our relationship is far beyond that. We both say the same thing about each other, "I trained him/her well".
The wife did give the MH a nickname though, "The Love Shack", baybeeeee!! Oh yea!!!!!

She has even asked me to carve a sign for over the entrance gate, of course I will. And get out of the gutter you dirty ole men, there is love without the "S". Here at this house we are very seldom alone unless asleep and there has been occasions when the mother in law came in for something even then. With two in-laws, two sons, and a granddaughter someone is always occupying our space. At the MH it is just the two of us and we can do and be what ever or nothing.

Well I can certainly see why you guys are always there. I would be too. And here I thought she was referring to you and your Pitts with the whole " love shack" bit. Lol.
