Yes, the folks in the UK and EU really go all out when it comes to 'large' very detailed aircraft of all sorts....but I gotta say guys like Robert would definitely give them a run for their money.

I seen a video sometime last year of a fella in Russia whom built a scale R/C Jet. He bought a warehouse, supplied it with the necessary machining equipment, and hired people to build his jet. Everything was scale and operational, and I mean everything. He listed the final cost to build his toy and seems like it was something of 500-600K. I can't find that video, wish I had saved it. But yes, some people have more money than (your word here). To be quite honest for me there is too big, to expensive, and the such. This Pitts in all reality for me is one of those, I almost would have just as well to build a real one. After all I will have a third of the cost in it but fortunately for me my feet don't like leaving terra firma.

If this is what it takes to 'win' at an event like JWM then it's my humble opinion that there should be a 'pro-built' and 'amateur' class, as the amount of money spent is beyond the reach of 99% of the world's 'regular' RC builders.
Just sayin'

I saw Jim Leroy fly in Dayton a couple years before he died there, was supposed to go the day he crashed and I am glad I didn't.
Well Robert after 10 months of no shop time and I am finally feeling like getting started again. Was going to get back on my 1/3 Spacewalker but I have to do a rebuild of my 1/3 Cub rudder and a total re-cover job. I had a shelf fall in my trailer and crushed the rudder. It is currently covered in Solartex this time around fabric and paint.
Later!!

The windscreen went well but I will leave it in place to fully cure. I am back home now awaiting tomorrows cath.
You tube has an abundant volume of videos of anyone worthy of being watched, and a few not so worthy.

Brother Bill,
In my spare time, (ha ha) when I'm to tired to work, sitting in front of the computer is a good way to pass time. I probably have a couple hundred videos saved to favorites or my playlist. Actually had the wife open an account for more space and better organization. I love acro, bipes, their performances, and most things extreme. To bad the real performers don't live longer.
On your second vid of that last post I love the advertisement.
Now, as for that jet and others like it, I do not look at it as an accomplishment like I do our normal guys. Yes, it is amazing, but it is also just a matter of money.
Most of us modelers/builders don't have those kind of funds and truly build our own. Guys like Anthony, Vincent, Kevin, Tom, David, and many others that sit in their normal shop designing, carving, cutting, and what ever else they need to do to build their plane has my utmost respect and admiration. For those guys it truly is an art and a love that money can't buy.

I added to my above post and no those are not the video. I seen it twice and then could not find it again. For me the amazing thing was how much of a craftsman each of the individuals were that worked on it, not the owner.

The cath has been done. I have a clean bill of health. So, other than the holidays, the build is on. I am going back tomorrow and hopefully will get the canopy frame made. And then sometime toward the end of the week (when the wife leaves for work) I will get back to the wing painting.

That is very good you have a clean bill of health .
I have Crohn's disease so I will never have a clean bill of health again . Some day I'm just doped up on painkiller's I can't do any work just sleep all day .
But I don't complain some people are worse off than me .

Ummmm, that was a clean bill of health with the ole heart. I still have asthma, COPD, two blown disk in the lumbar, and arthritis in the thoracic. I go back to the pain management doc next Tuesday for the back stuff. But other than that I am good. For the most part I am, only have a bad day once in a while especially if having done some moderate lifting or long periods of standing.
