Well, that is just gorgeous scenery Tom, I certainly would luv to see that in person... not sure if I could make an abrupt transition to that climate, but I could ease my way in... certainly better than living in a big city like Los Angeles.

LOL! Anything is better than a city like Los Angeles. Having family in Ohio I seen all I want to see of that white stuff. Not bad to visit but no way I would live in it.
By the way, the star has not came yet so it may not be here before I head back but the wife won't be up until 4 days later and would bring it. There is still plenty to do such as finishing the canopy, running the engine one time on the airframe, closing the nose, etc, etc.
I am sure some of you are getting tired of waiting, as I am myself, to see this bird finished. Bear with me, it should only be a couple more weeks.

LA, just sucks now... if you have money, you won't for long living here... the entire state is run by a bunch of corrupted liberals (Brown, shame on you!)... enough said !!

Ace, just like in RW aviation, it ain't going to fly until its ready to fly (spoken by a true IA)... take your time !

Inspection Authorization

FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) Requirements for Eligibility
PRIVILEGE & RESPONSIBILITY: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) initiated the issuance of the Inspection Authorization (IA) more than 35 years ago. This system of allowing qualified mechanics the privilege of performing certain inspections has served well in the maintenance of the U.S. Civil Fleet. The attainment of an IA and performance of the duties of that certificate greatly enhance the privileges and responsibilities of the aircraft mechanic. The IA permits the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic to perform a greater variety of maintenance and alterations than any other single maintenance entity.

The blue stripes have been painted, got them shot early enough I will be able to tape the perimeter this evening and shoot it. If it works out that way I can shoot the clear tomorrow after applying the pin striping.

An el cheapo HVLP from Wally world, 80 bucks for a set of two (one detail/one full size) in a blue case. They may be cheap but they work very well.

All the vinyl masking has been removed and this time with no adhesive left behind. In a way, doing this numerous times has taught me a lot about the vinyl and how to work it, so, no regrets. I will paint the perimeter this evening.
