If you don't have enough, Robert can stop by and get some from me. I buy them in bulk.

Either of those would be the most expensive 4-40 rods ever received for free.

Happy Holidays to you and everyone as well. As for the closest field I have no idea but you could look it up on the AMA site.

Now that that is over I can get back to the build. I have the canopy mount's, the gyro, and a torch set to rebuild the tailwheel assembly. I will be heading back Sunday and hopefully finish it up next week but no promises.
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and enjoyed their fellowship as much as I did.

Somewhere back in this thread someone mentioned where a 120mm spinner could be bought, some how I lost the link. I have been reading all day but can not find the post with the site. So could someone that knows whom sells 120mm spinners please tell me?

Try TruTurn... they make a large array of spinners and prop hubs / nuts... one of the few companies left here in the US that still manufactures here in the states.

http://www.truturn.com/

***EDIT***

That's damn near an 8" spinner you need there... you may have to have something custom made... I believe TruTurn will do special orders.

Robert,
I found some here, they have a good selection of sizes. 120mm = 4.723" so maybe a 4.75" spinner would work?
http://www.ibcinyourc.com/store.php/...2_blade#images They have 2 or 3 blade versions.

I went over to Frank Tiano's place today to pickup some supplies for finishing the cabane cover. He asked what I was working on and of course I showed him. He said it looked to be a very nice model at which point I mentioned I was thinking of entering it in Top Gun but was not sure about the documentation. Of course he explained it to me and said it was more than an adequate build and to enter it. For those that don't know Frank is the gentleman whom puts on Top Gun and has seen more than his share of nice models. So, I will most likely enter the event and I also had some other good news today. If I did not mention it Jacquie liked the pics I sent her of it on the table near completion. And today she informed me she would be at a local event here called Sun N Fun and we could meet up, presumably to take some pics of her with the plane. Needless to say I can't wait to get there tomorrow and work on finishing it up. I had planned on doing a few other task but those are out of the picture now. I want to focus Sunday through Thursday on completing this airplane and it should be a good possibility.
Thanks to everyone for sticking this build out. I know this last few months have been very slow on the progress but it will be worth it in the end. See ya'll tomorrow.

You deserve it. So I sometimes fly with one of the senior editors of probably the biggest Rc magazine in the US. I showed him aces build thread and let's just say he got excited . He said hell check out the thread and drop in at some point. So a good day indeed!

That`s great news Robert, is there a link that I might post pictures of my Real Flight color scheme to (same plane,if you recall my earlier post)..?? I would like her to see it. She was here in Sonoma Co. recently for the local airshow, could`nt make it unfortunately. It`s great that you`re going to get to meet her, and she you. The build will have come full circle. GREAT JOB.!! Can`t wait to see it all together and flying as well..

I am back at it. After doing the much needed yard work I headed to my room. All whilst I was home over the last week or so I had a notepad and would write down anything that popped in my head as I poured over it mentally. First up was to run it but a sticky note reminded me I had to put lock nuts on the engine mount bolts first. These little nuts in a closed in fuse took 2 hours and left my hands bloody, but they were done. I took it out and ran it real good for the last pre-maiden run, I also checked the tanks for any leaks while I was into it, all looks good. Just finished buttoning the nose back up and installing the cowl. Next up is the tailwheel remake and then the canopy mount. Be back in a bit.
