Well Anthony, on the other side of the coin is people whom do exactly what they say and most often more. Lyle at http://www.bestpilots.typepad.com/. is one of those such people. We have been emailing about the size and he is great at deciphering what I describe. Sometimes explaining how and why is not that easy so Lyle put the pilots head in a box (see pic) for me to see and we discussed adjustments based on what I see and how I think it should go. I believe we worked out the sizing perfectly and he was a true professional about my request and concerns.
I definitely will use him again, maybe even my next scale build "The Bulldog", after all it does not get any better than the best there is.
Anyway below is the proof Lyle sent me of my pilot to be. Woo Hoo!

I have also been doing some thinking today in regards to having this full bodied pilot strapped in the airframe. I think I am going to remake the seat frame with something a bit sturdier than the dowels it is currently made of. I am thinking brass tube brazed together would do nicely. The body and head are most likely lightweight, but, the internals to hold it in position as well as the servo and hardware for the articulating head seems to me would be a bit of a load for a dowel frame butt glued together.

No I haven't, but, I typically don't worry about weight. It is what it is has not failed me yet and I see no reason this time won't be any different. But on that note, I will weigh it next week and report my findings.

A few years ago I had a Blackhorse models B-25. It was so light I hated the way it flew but after adding a total of five pounds, in one pound increments, it was a real fine flyer. That B-25 was my intro into electric powered and my last. I sold it because I could not take the silent fly-bys and the thought of nitro with all the open crevices of the nacelles and airframe was nauseating.
And the B-25 was initially a six pound plane.

The pilot is going to look great.
I also think the brazed seat frame would be the way to go. It is a lot of work but what hasn't been on this build?
Later!!

The pants and canopy were suppose to be shipped out this morning. I have not heard anything yet nor have I received a tracking notice.
Edit: I no more than post that and get an email stating it has been shipped.

I worked out in the pasture, uh hmm, airstrip most of the day. But I did get the top wing bolts brazed together and the air spades made. I think will go ahead and paint the cabane cover and the air spades, either tomorrow or Thursday. All the wing bolts will get polished up bright and shiny also.
So much for not posting until outside and assembled. LOL!

Hey Robert I zoomed in on pic #2 posted above and noticed a lot of dust on your wing, at 1st I thought it was metallic in the paint. You need to plug that vacuum in that is on the floor behind the plane and give it a good cleaning.

I was going to say something about the dust on the wing, but as most of my posts are some sort of wise arss remark, I figured I'd let someone else have that one. Lol. Hey, I've gotten a lot better with the shop snooping.

Sorry boredom setting in from being home from work sick for a couple of days.
I do have to say your rib stitching and tapes look spot on. Just the right amount of fill and blending. I know how much work that takes.
