I can sew, but my machine fried. But if all else fails I will buy another one and some patterns to suit my fancy. I can shrink the patterns to my size and rough some articles together. Right this minute I would prefer not, have a lot on the plate.

Anything custom made is going to be on the expensive side, especially when dealing with a Antique doll seamstress... you can pickup a decent sewing machine form joanns for about $100 bucks... like anything with this hobby, if you want something " one of " done, you'll pay through the nose to get it, usually with a long turn around to boot... or you do it yourself.... maybe if you post in the "want" section will get more exposure... this project made me feel exhausted for you, I can only imagine how you feel seeing it near completion .

She views this thread so I would guess, yes. I have not sent her any of late. Maybe next week I'll have to do a photo op of it now that it is done and send her one. Sure would be nice to have the doll Jacquie dressed and in it for that.

Suddenly Roberts mouth went dry, drier than the Sahara. He became aware suddenly that his clothing was completely saturated with sweat. This was it; the moment was upon him. Hundreds of hours, endless nights, and countless setbacks. The rig was loaded, every detail meticulously checked, it was time to go. The crowd was waiting.

We are all hoping so Robert. We sure are eager to see this awesome project safely in the air and back on the ground.
It's bears a bit of resemblance to a big rocket launch. Fly baby fly, go baby go
Then we will be thinking of you like an Olympic balance beam contestant at dismount. Stick it, STICK IT, YEAH BABY.

It seems like no matter how many times you fly or how good you think you are; the maiden of a newly built plane will always have you on edge. That is why I always call for the support of a good friend and flyer who can help me to double check the assembly, all preflight tests, range checks, voltages, etc. and then go through the radio once more to ensure my settings are where I want them. When all this is completed I take another few minutes to relax and get my head in the game but I can't help feeling nervous and afraid when its time to fly. Its that buddy next to me for the moral support that really helps. When I complete the flight and its usually not that long I feel like the biggest champion. What a great feeling!!
I say this because I maiden my newly built Pilot Edge 540 37% plane today. What a rush!!!

I hear ya and have one on stand-by, he is also the videographer. I'm so paranoid with this one I even bought a second Tx so to separate this bird from the others, would not be good to have the Tx on one of the small Pitts to fly this one with. I did that once with a Corsair, every thing other than throttle was reversed and I did not notice it. That was a really wobbly flight but I managed to get it down, of course it was a throw away ARF, not a 10K masterpiece.

Worse thing you can do is psych yourself out... its just like every other time, you are in control... once it leaves the ground, you'll realized the worry is about nothing... that thing is going to fly itself; the bigger models usually do fly better... just don't drink to much coffee the day of the maiden, or you'll really be on edge.
When I was into 1/2A, everyone told me if you can fly 1/2A, you can fly anything... but flying 1/2A after flying these big models, is just too squirrely for me... the old GLH was a rush back in its day, if I were to fly that now, it would become a lawn dart for sure (with the way my eyes are anyways)

Rob, Its not easy when it cost soooo much. That is always my biggest hurdle but I tell myself this is what I worked hard for and I want to fly it. When the time comes ( yours and no one else's ) I know your going to succeed. For now all I can say is to enjoy the masterpiece you built even if its just to look at. Dude, its AWESOME!!!
From one brother in Christ to another I'm praying for you. God Bless Bro.

Robert, my mother in law is great with a sewing machine. I have asked a few times for some articles. To date she has done wing bags, pouches for my flying glasses and tons of clothes for the grand children. Best of all she truly appreciates the efforts that we put into our airplanes. I could ask if she is willing to sew an outfit together for Your pilot. Perhaps a detailed list of exactly what you want and maybe a picture of Jaquie wearing the outfit you want to re-create if it exists.

Thank you to everyone for their well wishes. No matter what the plane, I am always nervous on the maiden this is why all I do is make circles and trim them out. I don't worry about the money, not that I would like seeing 8-10K go in a flash, but rather all my time of love and labor. To date I have not had a crash on maiden, to anal about things I guess. I have had some sore inner knee's once or twice, I may need to wear pads for this one.
I am having a friend help me with balance and weighing on Wednesday so it will be a go after that. I plan on getting some flying in towards the end of the week and weekend. Maiden should be within a few weeks, I am looking forward to it as much as you guys!
