That is my hope. And Tuesday has been nominated for some run-ups. I'll install the gyro then and the camera then do a couple taxi runs to get the gyro set closer. Depending on how things go as to whether it gets airborne that day. And "Yes" there will be video, the camera man said he would be there and there will be the on board video.

Sounds good Ace... I'm a strong believer in the intuitive.... if it feels right, go for it; you'll know when the time is right... I think you will be pleasantly surprised on the flight characteristics, it won't be anything like your smaller pitts, should be much more predictable... I know its no real comparison, but when I maidened my sig J3, I never flew anything that big before... I got myself so concerned and worked up, I was going to hand it over to someone else, but in the end I said screw it.... hands were shaky, got it going down the runway, it started drifting to the left just slightly, but I let it go... I was surprised when it left the ground before I was ready... I let it climb out on its gentle assent, then made the first turn... then I realized, I got this... I immediately claimed down, and it was a very enjoyable first flight... I know the pitts is not a cub, but with that wing area, it will be very much the same experience without a doubt.
I flew a 52" inch Aeromaster biplane, double swept wing configuration, with a weber 61 in it not too long after I soloed on my first ever RC plane, which was an airtronic Q-Tee 1/2A... it was that aeromaster that got me hooked on the bigger models... I still remember it well today... it was the smoothest, most directional aircraft, it went wherever you pushed the sticks, and you didn't have to fight it... lots of fun .

Ok guys, the flight report is...............No flight report! It turns out the tail wheel steering systems springs are so weak it would not even start to ground steer. There were a few minor glitches with the pants, throttle set-up, and the smoke oil filler port, but as soon as returning home I got to work adjusting everything and all is well. I am not positive about the new springs on the tail wheel and will wait and see. I might have to replace the leaf spring with a longer one to cut down on the angle of the linkage or bend the current springs, I don't know right now. Other than the minor issues I was very happy with the run and now actually look forward to the maiden. Sorry, with the way it went I did not think to do a photo shoot, had my heart set on a video. The next attempt at a maiden is next Monday unless something changes in the cameraman and my schedule.

You guys definitely know how it is.
Just watched the four minute on board video. The canopy is rock solid as well as everything else in view. I am on the wife's LT and it sucks thoroughly, not even going to think about trying to download the vid, it would take all night. The wife has said she would shoot video if I wanted to try again tomorrow. In the morning I am going to flatten the leaf springs a little, I think it will help a lot with the steering if the linkage was straighter, and if I feel it I will go out again.

I just finished rearranging the tail wheel assembly. I bent the leaf spring to less of an angle which made the chain more in line with the tail wheel arms. I also went ahead and installed stronger springs. As of right now Monday is a go.
