Saturday was a bust, Sunday I went to my old club, the winds were somewhat strong out of the south. They were not strong enough for flight but being out of the south they come over a hill that creates some nasty turbulence over the field. Maybe next weekend,

I still have not had a chance to fly it with the 3 blade. Frank has the 12 'clock high photos posted, somehow I rated seven shots in the album.

Those pics really stress just how bad I need to get the pilot in it. A plane flying by with an empty cockpit just does not look right.

A female pilot would be best...

And all I have to do is buy some foam, carve the body, make some clothes, assemble it all, and install it in the airframe. Oh, make and install the harness also.

Well, it finally happened, today was the day, nearly a year in the works, I finally got to put Jacquie on the sticks of the Eagle. She did pretty darn well for a first timer to r/c. What a great day! Hope to do it again sometime.

Ace, did you get it on video, I would luv to have seen her reaction... would be something if she got the RC bug and picked up the hobby, I bet she would do very well with it.

Yes, there was video, and as soon as it gets loaded or something I will post it. I don't think the r/c bug will hit her but it does make her want another Pitts.
Thanks everyone for the accolades.
I am thoroughly enjoying this plane and the attention it garners.

I have been doing repair work on the fleet. The Ultimate got a new carb yesterday, the 1/3 GP Pitts is getting a recover. It took a couple days last week to strip and sand it. I cut and glued together the wing panels yesterday. Today I have covered the bottom wing, top wing, including pin striping, and currently working on the ailerons.

Robert,
What are you using for covering ? I don't believe I have seen pre seaming covering before. Makes perfect sense though.

It is Ultracote, I line up the overlap then fold back and coat with Monocote trim solvent, lay back in place, and squeegee (quickly)! It fuses the layers together so well even shrinking heat does not separate it.

Next time I use the plastic I will give that a go. So much better than putting two coats on.

Do a practice run first to see how quick this stuff sets up, other than that it works great. I was actually seriously dreading doing this re-cover. Apparently my memory served me wrong as I could have sworn it was a whole lot harder to do, haven't done any plastic in nearly ten years. Now I don't dread the Challenger! Woo Hoo!!!!

Not in my planes, "Smoke'em if ya got'em, if ya ain't got one get one"!!!!!
I have even given a thought, just to piss off "That" crowd, of making a smoke system, putting a sig on the side, and have the smoke exit the sig tip.

That would be pretty funny!
