I am absolutely positive, I will have a great time.

Judging is more than what the average Joe see's when looking at an airframe. While most think it is superb, including myself, there are one or two items that could be misconstrued. In other words, I will start out with a score of 100 and for each error in comparing my model to the pics and three views, points will be removed. Right now the cowl is the only thing that is not true but I may be making one true scale just for static judging. When I began this venture I did not intend on competing but rather build as scale a bird as I could. The cowl was not right for the model but close enough and the side bubble gave a place to install the switches, fuel cap, ign kill, etc. so I left it be. I have cut a piece of 1/4" ply the shape of the firewall, no bubble, and foam for forming a new cowl as well as the glassing material. I just have to take a day to do it. All the gear can sit inside the new cowl for judging, for flight I will re-install the original with the switches.

You should bring her to Joe Nall this year. I and some flying buddies are heading down and we have rented a 10 person RV so we have some room for ya.

With the number of pilots in the hundreds what do you get one flight for the week, I imagine it is a madhouse. Last years numbers were nearly 1800, wow, don't leave a lot of individual airtime.

I am doing pretty good, as you can see I have not been on there in quite some time. And the big Pitts does make the 1/3 scale feel like a small toy.

I am sure everyone has noticed I have been gone for a while. I originally left because of the way RCU was going but it appears they have made some improvements.
Top Gun 2017 did not go to well, actually did not go at all. On practice day the prop bolt broke taking the prop bolts, nuts, spinner and back plate, as well as the prop for a separate joy ride. And then whilst landing extremely fast it nosed over and broke the fin and crumpled the front of the cowl. Being extremely frustrated, not to mention it takes a month to get parts for the engine, I declined the rule of using an alternative for flight and I packed up and went home. Spent most of the next year doing some remodeling on our old house so as to sell it.
But I think I am near to being back in to the hobby. I accepted the invite to Top Gun 2018 and have made all the necessary repairs on the Eagle. Just got RF loaded on a new LT so I can start practicing, I need to do a lot. Next week trips to the field will begin and using the smaller Pitts looking to get live practice as well.
