Quick update after "Arrival Day" Thursday
Got some 60+ R/C participants at the Rendezvous checked in - plus a dozen full-scales who flew in today (and another batch who trailered in).
Weather probably about as good as it gets!!!
So far after a bunch of flights by R/C, only one broken prop! Guys are doing some great flying.
Friday is "Media Day", "Rehearsal Day" and the Museum Meet and Greet - gonna be a busy day!!
'til later,
Lee
And yeah, I know I got some sun . . . . .

I want to give a big thanks to Doug Cox and Lee McDuffee for the best Dayton Dawn Patrol Rendezvous I can remember. With a little help from good weather, these 2 guys put together an incredible show. Probably over 100 pilots, fantastic aircraft. The models ruled. Great job of herding cats, guys. My thanks and congratulations on a job VERY well done.

Man-o- MAN !...I am beat! ...........That was one hell of a event!.
I had sooo much fun. I am going to make this short because I re-packing and heading down to MAD patrol for another 5 day event!
Lee and Doug you hit it out of the park!
My wife took some pics of Keith Z. and myself. What a outstanding pilot and plane builder......
I will be back in a week to add more "table fodder"

Th flying weather couldn't have been better, the turnout was fantastic, and I also thought the full scale mock shoot-downs were a great addition to the air show. Of course flying my 1/3 scale Pup was a lot of fun too! Had a great time hanging out with everyone. To Lee and Doug and all the rest of your crew: thank-you! Looking forward to 2016's rendezvous...

Huzzah huzzah!!! Kudos to Lee and Doug for an outstanding event, the weather was plum gorgeous and the company was of the none better category. Lots of great flying and great visiting. So good to get to meet greet and put faces on the names I've known for years. A special thanks to Art for holding for me on Fri AM and allowing me to be first up (snicker snicker). I just got home and am exhausted, but it's a sweet kind of tired, the kind following something special. Thanks again Doug and Lee, you two deserve lots of high praise for a job well done. Lees new nickname is "Lobster"by the way.

So glad Lee and Doug organized a great event. But as always its all of you who made what sounds ike a great event. I will make 2016.
HPA, Just want you and Art to know I finished and maidened my new 1/3 Ron Weiss short kit Fokker D-VIII in just 63 days!
G-62 with Xoar 24-6. Used 3mm oak veneer and stained wings thanks to George H and Steve Thomas Inspired by watching them fly at ODP and Keith Z. Building N-28 last year when I met him. Trident is from Navy seal's logo.
See you soon at MAD. Weather looking great.

What a fantastic event for 2014! Doug, Lee, and everyone involved....Kudos!! And to all the old and new DP friends, it was wonderful spending time with you. I got home about midnight Sunday night. It sure has been nice to have the day off to recuperate and work on editing photos (mowed some grass today too). I just about have the flood-o-photos ready to post. For now, here's one I've been working on for a bit this evening.
This is Greg Emerick's 1/3 scale Sopwith Pup Photoshopped into a pic of one of the full scale Pups in attendance (I think there were 4 FYI). With a bit of extra attention added as well.

Just a quick note to all as I sit here at my desk back at work (yuck).
Helen and I got back home Monday evening - none too much the worse for wear (I only slightly resemble one of the characters from "The Flight of the Phoenix"!!).
GREAT JOB by ALL THE R/C PILOTS IN ATTENDENCE. You guys rocked the house all four days we flew. I cannot be more proud of everyone - you made this event one for the ages!!!
I'll start posting thoughts and a few pics myself hopefully this evening.
Many, many thanks to all!!

Thanks Lee and Doug and Helen, of course, and everybody else who help out. This had to be the best Dawn Patrol rendezvous ever! The number of spectators over the weekend had to be in the thousands.
