Yeah, I don't think I would enlarge those to 1/3 scale!

I covered the top of the fuselage before attaching the tail surfaces using my favorite method of Sig Koverall sealed with Minwax Polycrylic. I also had to make the little fairing that goes at the front of the stab under the fin.

OK, in the last shot I see a beautiful work bench, a nice cabinet, a band saw, a rack for paints, and...a bomb?

Lovely build, btw. Just wondering about the lower left corner.

Thanks. That's a Navy practice bomb I picked up at a gun show or flea market many years ago.

I have a very similar practice bomb I bought in a surplus store north of Salt Lake City when I was a young kid.... We actually hauled it home tied to the luggage rack of our station wagon ! hahahahah

Ha! That must have been quite a sight! You need to go through customs somewhere like that. Or maybe those check points in Texas near the border.

I'm finishing up the wings on the SPAD. The ailerons were cut out and finished with leading edges and sheeting to stiffen them up. I had to order more 3/32 balsa to finish applying the 10,000 cap strips!

Is the rib flat bottomed?

(And is that a Boston in the background?)

No, it's undercambered. Yes, it's an A-20B Havoc/Boston. I'm rebuilding it after a crash a few years ago that happened when one engine quit on takeoff. It's 1/6 scale and I also did it from my own "plans". There's a build thread of the original and the rebuild on RCScalebuilder.com.

Steve told me to post pictures here.

What are you up to? You've been awfully quiet lately ...something devious, I'm sure!

Hey, Paul... yes I know, Hell, He wanted me to pay him to be here???? You know how it is, get a "NAME" posting on your site and you can draw up some business for the event. I have to do something to keep up with you, which I can't by the way.

Jim was gracious enough to honor us with his build thread.

Fell free to join the MEN of the HDP and post some stuff on here as well.... Just don't scare us..

I wouldn't mind seeing some other projects, too. I'm sure there's lots more going on out there.

Looks great, Greg! How did it go with your cable and pulley systems for the rudder and elevators?

Thanks Jim,
The cable & pulley systems worked out pretty well. I think the pulleys I got from a model sailboat company were just about the right size & I made my own aluminum brackets to mount them securely to the struts. I used two double-block pulley's for the elevators (one for each elevator half) & the singles for each side of the rudder pull-pull cables. I'll snap some pictures of the setup & post them later. I do still need to apply to the struts those water transfer decals that you sent me. That will dress them up nicely.

best regards,
Greg
