The Hoosier Dawn Patrol

Mike, I prefer the big ones. Much more pleasant to scroll through while reading the forum. I am not a favorite to open each thumbnail. Love that Gotha shot, wonderful Looking forward to your uploads.
Myself am changing over to Flickr to host my photos, also easy uload, seems a bit faster and no advertising......... See here for some examples in my new albums, just an idea.

Here we go with the Lucky Dog Photo Flood. I have posted them of the HDP and RCDP Dawn Patrol Facebook pages. But I know that some of you don't do FB (because thinking is hard). There you can see all of them (167), where I'll just put the best (or ones I like most) here. Cheers!
I guess maybe I should start off with a Pastiche image, but it works for the title pic.
Jim Suchy's new 1/3 scale Spad on it's maiden flight Thursday evening.
John Romeo's 1/3 Pup.
Brian Cassidy''s 1/3 Spad.
1/3 scale Fokker DVII
Art Shelton's 1/3 Nieuport 11 of his own design.

Greg Emerick's BUSA Eindecker. This faithful bird was flying at the very first HDP 12 years ago, and has flown at most of them since.
DVII
Se5A
Jim Shroder's Maxford Jenny
Paul's DVII trying to shahe Jim's "Super" Jenny.
Art's N11 coming to the rescue.
He's got the angle!
Got 'em!
Doug Baily has the right idea after an afternoon of dogfighting.

Greg Emerick's 1/4 scale electric DH2
1916 maybe?
Three Art Shelton design Nieuport 11s up together. Art, Barry Vogel and Martin Justis.
Barry's N11 come in for a landing.
Martin's making a fly-by.
Greg Hahn's 1/3 DVII
Greg's 1/4 DVII. A long time favorite of mine.
I think this is my "Ooh...Aah" shot of the event.
Or, perhaps this one?
Art's 1/3 Dr1.
Art Shelton and Greg Hahn.
1/3 Albatros DVa
1/3 Camel

Mr. HDP Sir Percy. Glad Steve was able to attend (and is doing better) to run his event.
And good to see Matt Kemp. Matt is typically Steve's "Pit *****". Not sure what his title was this year since Steve wasn't flying.
Not sure if Andy's pilot was just peering around the nose while taxiing in, or getting ready to loose his Sauer-Kraut and Schnitzengruben.
Jim Suchy's giant awesome Gotha is off for a mission.
And it picks up an escort
And is attacked by Lee McDuffee's Pup
1/3 DVII
Nieuport 28

Paul's (?) 1/4 DVII
Don;t know who this young man was, but I liked his shirt.
Andy Morone's 1/3 Sopwith Triplane
Mike Smith's 1/3 DVII.
More on this nice bird later.
Andy's Triplane and a little PS.
Greg Emerick's EIII
Larry Barr's 1/3 Dr1
Another nice 1/3 Dr1

Now it's time to show off my playing around with Photoshop (rudimentary at that).
The are all three Art's 1/3 scale Dr1
Too many Triplanes you say? Okay, will take one out and add an Albatros.
A collage of Paul and Jim duking it out.
Andy's Triplane being pursued by an Albatros.
And every once in a while I get a series that I can put together as Pastiche. Here we have Mike Smith's DVII performing a loop.
Thant's all for here folks. You can see all of these and more at:

Mike,
You seem to have caught a telling picture of my N11. I see the elevator wires are not working the elevator... I found that after I retrieved it after the 'crash' that the elevator horn had popped off the servo. Apparently I was flying around for awhile like that. Oops. Perhaps a little better preflight check next time. I think I was lucky this time. Great pictures as usual.

Wow, Martin. You were lucky!
These fantastic models were by Mike Gross who traveled all the way from Long Island, NY (as did Andy and Bob) to participate in this event. He is a regular competitor in the expert class at events like Top Gun and Scalemasters.

Mike, thank you my friend.
Really good photos! Many Kudos!
.......... and Sir Percy. Thank you for putting this event together - again! What a great show!
And to all who attended and flew at the 2015 HDP ........many thanks go out to you guys. The flying is what it is all about. It is an honor to share the airspace with you.
It is builders and flyers like you who keep the creative juices flowing in me and I appreciate that very much.
Cheers,
Art
