One thing you have to take into consideration, not every Pitts is created equal, there are several variables including wing width. I can not measure any of mine for it is all up north including all the plans. But, if you have plans you should have the chord? yes? no? maybe? LOL!!

I have a dimension question for the Andy Sherber Pitts s1s.
Wikipedia gives a 17"4" wing span. At 1/3 scale that yields a 69.3" Am I correct here about the Andy Sherber Pitts s1s wing span?
BTW what is the wing cord?
Want to start printing some parts, even though not sure when I will be able to start building.

I get 69.264" inches... 208" inches times 33.3%.
***EDIT***
No, you are correct 33.3%
That's hard to believe the full scale pitts has only a 17 foot wing span, that would almost fit in my garage.

LoL... it sure is tiny
If you're interested, here's a link to Andy's Bio... its mentioned that his 1/3 S2A has an 80" wing span... and his 1/3 S1A had a 60" wing span... not sure if that's of any help, they may have rounded off... but an interesting read... he had quite a background in the hobby... he was 4 years older than I when he passed, makes one think, especially at my age!

Here's a bit more info... the RCGuys's 1/3 S1 pitts ARF was developed off Andy's plans... it has a wings span of 68 3/8" inch top wing, and a 65 3/4" inch bottom wing.

Hi Robert,
Was wondering if I can join this Brotherhood of Pitts Lovers? In my stable right now I currently have 3 Great Planes Pitts 29%, 3 Great Planes Christen Eagles 29%, 1 Midwest .40 size, 1 EZ Christen Eagle .40 size, 1 electric Pitts (forgot who's at the moment), and a Cox Christen Eagle electric. So you can see I love those Pitts and Eagles.

Wahoo lucky number 17. Thanks for the welcome. Yes Steve I am familiar with the Farmington Club's Big Biplane Bash. Just haven't had the opportunity to fly in it as I just rejoined the club after a 10 year hiatus. Was formerly a member and instructor there for 28 years before school, work and raising a family took up all my time but I am happy to be back.

Hey Robert!
I gotta a picture for you. It was my first design from scratch and contained 2 of the wings from my first Ace All Star bipe. The top wing was another Ace foam wing from a Wizard. I didn't know I wanted a Pitts back then (circa late 70's) but I knew that I liked more than one wing.
Cheers,
Art
p.s. still looking for my old Pitts pictures

OK I have found some actual Pitts pictures, circa mid to late 1990s, some 20 years later than the triplane pics.
Cermark 1/4 scale S2 Pitts arf designed by Dave Patrick. Power was a Saito Golden Knight 120 four stroke. A wonderful flying airplane.
Flying site is at Camp Atterbury located near Columbus and Edinburgh Indiana.

Hi friends I recently finished this 38% Cristen Eagle by Frank Knoll kit. WS on top was about 90 inches powered up with a 3-w 100 for power / very nice flying plane with killer looks / Also scratch built the Bob Dively Pitts S-2 with super coverite / paint with G 62 , which flew great but under powered ! there are a few kit cutters out there that offer the Bob Dively kit Aero-accessories.com for you scratch builders Good luck!
