Ah well, somethings weren't meant to be I guess
Are you trying to download off a camera? Or is it the setup where you can take the chip out of the camera and slide the chip right into the pc?
I assume you know that some files are not opened by all programs.. If you see the file on your pc listed ,try RIGHT clicking it and use different programs to view it when you are given the option of OPEN WITH..
I am on an old PC and don't use Apple so we may not have similar equipment or software You may very well be much more informed on all things computer as well as I am really closer to being a NEWB than pro at these things ! hahahah

Billy, search on line for your camera's drivers and reload them to your computer. Windows has stopped supporting a lot of older programs and their automatic updates don't always tell you they take drivers out of the system. If you have updated to Windows 10, you may be screwed.
Also, try to remove the SB card from your camera , insert in your computer and open it like a file. You can download the pics to a file on your desktop and use from there.
Also, remove RCU from your favorites list and reload it, some times it can become corrupt. And when loading pictures to RCU, always use the "Go Advanced " setting. And try to refresh your RCU account, again, sometimes the info becomes corrupt, especially after a hack, and it all needs to be re entered. My last hack was 3 years ago and I am still repairing files.
And, something else. Sometimes security programs and updates will stop file communication. I sometimes have to shut off McAfee and disable my firewall to get things to work.
I'm just thinking out loud here, trying to remember anything that might help.
Something obvious, you are logging in to RCU ?
