1/5 Harvard/Texan (Ziroli)
Ok - Im starting my build log so long.
I will be using Ziroli plans to build a 1/5 master fuselage only, and then fiberglass moulds and fiberglass fuselage

incidentally, it is indicated on the Ziroli plans that the model was designed primary from some 3 view drawings and the Monogram model. It was not designed from North American blueprints and hence is inaccurate in a number of areas. Despite this it is obviously a popular model. I am wondering if i should simply build the Ziroli Harvard or build from blueprints.

What are you after? I believe when the plane was designed, it was made to fit off the shelf accessories and fly good not be a F4C plane. Most scale kits really are like this. It can be made into a super fine model; a winner; you are up against what a US modeler wants.

Yes - good point. Well mainly I'm a bit of a scale nut. The more accurate the better, so I guess I will go with blueprints then.Pity though, as I bought the Ziroli plans long ago and have been so looking forward to building. At that stage though I had thought they were accurate. Such is life.

Hi all, just wanted to check in and find out how this build is coming? I have a 72" builders kit for the T-6. The box is from an out of business store in California and the plans are not available. I do have plans for the BT-19 kit from the same business that I can use for some reference. I consider myself to be an advanced builder and I think, if I can't find plans, I can build this? My dad was a Navy pilot in WW II and an instructor during part of his service. He flew the SNJ training and re certifying pilots going back to the front. I'm not looking for a top gun aircraft, as stand off flying bird will do just fine! Does anyone know of available markings and/or stickers/decals? Thanks for letting me ramble!! God Bless

Hi, No unfortunately my 2 year old son has thwarted a lot of my plans. I really want to get into my Harvard builds - just waiting to get some time in my life back. Firstly - dont wait - just go for it - build the kit. Im sure you will do great. secondly, Im sure it wont be difficult to track down some usable markings. What scheme are you doing? Do a build log so I can follow and we can chat about it.
