Default Building a C-130....165" wingspan.....

Not sure where to post this....it's not giant scale (1:9.5)...and it's not a "true" scratch build (I'm using Palmer plans and increasing them 25%)...lets call it "semi-scratch"

So.....I've always liked the Herky, mainly cause of the multitude of roles it has to play...it is a workhorse! About 2 years ago I bought a set of Palmer plans (133" wingspan) and thought it would be cooler if it was slightly bigger...took it to a copy store and blew it up 25% (165" wingspan).....now I had the set of plans!

So....I've always wanted to have a CNC to cut out anything I need, so around the same time I bought the plans for the Herky, I built a CNC so I could cut out my own parts...the material is held down by a vacuume table (18"x35" cutting surface) which I also am using for vacuume forming...now I got a way to cut out the parts!

So...I'm starting this thread cause I thought it would be fun to keep track of the build...hope you enjoy!

Ok, I should be signed up! Maybe you should take a page out of Bob Goffstein's build book, build two! 👍😄

Its always drove me crazy that there are no large kits for C-130's Being in the Army I have been in several, with Air Born Soldiers, and while in Iraq.

I think it would be fun to build on of these...

You going to sell a short kit?

Also, flying characteristics of the C-130 Hercules will wow you with its stable flight characteristics and grace and realism in the air. The fuselage comes in three sections with slip fits and the wings are removable just outboard of the inboard nacelle for ease of transportation of this big bird. This semi-kit offers the option of a functional cargo area door and is capable of carrying 10 lbs. of payload. Intermediate building experience recommended.
Geez, blatant commercialism is bad enough but in the middle of someone else's thread?

there is a guy in the Lincoln Skyknights who built one if anyone has any contacts to their club. They are still in the adjusting stages and have yet to fly her.

Thanks guys for your following and enthusiasm .....

Just wanted to take a second to clear something up.....

I truly enjoy questions and comments on this project....but....This is a build thread keeping track of THIS build....your other projects are awsome but I hope you understand, I'm just trying to keep track of my build....and if you want to advertise, please go somewhere else! Thanks

Hope you all understand....not trying to be "that guy" ...thanks again
