Default Ikon N'west Beaver 96" WS

just picked up a Ikon N'west Beaver with a 96 inch WS. From what I can find it should be about 14 lbs flying weight but I'm not sure that's going to be correct. The question I have is power. The one picture of the specs seem to make this a 20cc plane, this doesn't have floats and I just want scale flight. I have a G23 sitting around and just want opinions on if that's enough or if I should find a G-38. Thanks for your assistance.

While I haven't had the IKON Beaver, I have built several IKON kits. I think your G-23 will fly your model, but I would feel more comfortable with a G-38. That's what I've used in similar sized IKON designs.

Had a G-23 on a somewhat similar plane in that weight range and it was a real Dog. The engine was smooth and reliable but just was totally lacking! A buddy converted his G-38 to CDI.
It is now much more user-friendly. Bet a DLE 30 or 35 would fill the bill hands down. You have a big plane..........if at some point you want floats the G-23 is not going to do it.

The G23 I have laying around so I guess I'll try it. When the day comes I decide to do floats I'll probably go with a DLE 35.
