Default Flying wires vs 2.4 radio?

Sig Waco SRE. Wanting to use metal wire for flying wires. Hitec radio. Mfr says no problem, but wasn't sure what flying wires are. Anyone have any experience with this?

I have Balsa USA SPAD with Hitec Aurora 9 2.4 Ghz. Metal flying wires and metal pull-pull on rudder. No problems. Also scratch Handley-Page O-400 with metal rigging and pull-ups on rudder and elevator. Airtronics 2.4, No problems.

Watch for vibration on the wing rigging wires (if steel) to possibly create intermodulation (I may have the wrong term here) on SERVO wires, particularly aileron servos. Twist the heck out of the servo wires going outward to prevent this.
2.4G is great and will eliminate other issues.

Correction: I think the term I should have used is INDUCTION
