crop duster r/c
You have the right ideaabout applying a flat clear coat over the monocoat. That should do the trick. Here's the trick to painting over monocoat. It's what I do and I'venever had a problem with it. Take you some fine grade steel wool and rub it over the surface. It doesn't takemuch pressure at all. You arecreating imperfections to the finish of the monocoat which in theindustrial world we call a "profile". Youmay not be able to see it unless you get eye level to the area you just rubbed down, but you should be able to see the shine fade down. That's what makes the paintstick to the monocoat. Make sure you post some pictures of the Pawnee when you get gack to the states.
Good luck over there and stay safe.
there is anyone out there with a Rockwell Thrush r/c kit.
I prefer the look of the Rockwell over the Air tractor and Pawnee.

Red Twilight is working on some CAD files but I know of no kit available. There were plans for a stand-off scale version out of Canada several years ago too, but I do not know if that was ever a kit either.

So far this is all I've done!
ask what engine you are running and is that a scale Keleo exhaust?
Great job on your Top Gun win. The scale detail and realism of your
plane is the style I am trying to go for. I have been debating on
building a P-47 warbird or some sort of Ag Duster plane and have
settled on the crop duster simply becuase it is very unique
and no other pilot in our club or at our field has one. Not even the
Hangar 9 pawnee ARF LOL
I know that Tom at TMRC Sailplanes has a Piper Pawnee
but Ithink the thrush is better looking.
Red, your CAD work looks excellent. Keep up the good work.
Like everything else in life it takes time but Iam sure the effort
will be well worth it.
The exhaust is routed through a Mac's 90* elboww and their flex tubing out the scale pipe carved from urethane foam and glassed.

Congrats on your 09 Top Gun win. I am a fan and was wondering was this the last year you can compete with that airframe. I thought I read some where that you can only compete for 3 years with a certain plane?? I may be wrong though.
Thanks for posting the info on this great piece of workmanship.
Derrick
Also just FYI, the last time Top Gun has been won two years in a row with the same airplane was Charlie Chambers with his P-61in 1997-98. Terry Nitsch won three times in a row 1994-1996, with a BVM F-86, before the three year rule was in effect.
I am trying to find an ARF of a crop duster. I am not that good of a builder but love the look of the ag planes. Anyone know of a good ARF?

It has been awfully quite around here, hopefully because folks are out dusting the flying fields instead of sitting around killing time online.
D. Hayes
I believe we are all still here.
Ok.... OK... I think I am still here. LOL
This is very nice looking. Would love to have one but cant find the site.

it is a very easy plane to fly with no bad tendencies good luck with the flying
