Only one I know of is still several months off. A 72" bird being done for a mag. build up article but unsure if it will go into a full fledged kit production other than having plans made avail. All I can say at this time other than it being a "sort of scale"


Maybe someone else will have some thing else to talk about.

I wish I could say I was doing it but it is being done by someone else. I spoke with him last night on this bird and I was mistaken it is a very scale building bird. And will not be suited for first time builders but for us guys who love scratch building it will be decent build.

I have a promice of pictures in the next month or so and will post when avail.

After many builds, and a few scratches, and numerous repairs (mine as well as club-mates) A scratch build would be welcome (and with this particular project) expected.

If there is enough interest in a scale Dash 8 the one pictured below MAYBE put into production. Maiden flight was today and flew well on Jedi 15/4's weight w/o battery pack was 5 lbs 14 oz. 72'' span and 582 sq '' wing area.

We are thinking of full laser cut kit but only if the interest is enough to justify setting up the CAD files, making a building manual, etc.

Scale Freak

I have some fairly detailed drawings of the Dash-8 series 100 and 300.
These are not plans, but they can be used to create them. I am also working on
making a -8 as I worked on them a few years ago. I would like to make mine 2"=1'-0".
The drawings are in tif and jpg format. and I could e-mail them to you if you like.

Ok any interested parties on the de Havilland DASH 8, RT Models will be producing this kit in the very near future. Just need to get the building photos into a building manual and get the laser cut file in order and to our laser cutter.

Any updates and product release date will be listed on the RT Models website

Hi,

All of the posts on the Dash-8 are several years old. Did a kit go into production? If so, is it still available? I used to fly the real -100 &
-300 for Piedmont Airlines, formly Henson Airlines, as a US Airways Express carrier.
