Here is the NACA scoop on the left side of the dorsel fin. I carved out the pocket then filled with spackle lite and sanded. The pc of 1/64th ply makes it look like it goes deep into the fin. Next the scoops on the nose area.

Hi Again David and Dave,
Dave? How are you going to glass all these intricate details? They do look great, your work is fantastic, but glassing this stuff is going to be very difficult. David have you booked a flight to SC to help him? lol I'm looking forward to seeing this. Go easy on the micro ballons!!

Here are some pictures of the radio compartment hatch. The radar dome is held on with 1/8 dowels and small magnets (not in place yet) The nose is fully removeable to get to the switches and air valves. More to follow!!

Here are pictures of the radome with the magnets installed. You can find the magmets at Wallmart, Lowes and the dollar stores you need to harvest them out of there plastic holders. I have the radio tray in place, this will hold the onboard glow batteries, brake servo and controller, rx switches. the radome is held on with 4 dowels and 8 of the magnets. The air scoops ar next on the bottom of the radome.

Dave? How strong are those magnets? Now that you opened the scoops you have alot of air flowing through the nose cone. That air has to go somewhere or the preasure in the nose might blow it off. Maybe opening the fire wall might relieve some preasure. Just a thought.

What you don't see is that I have it blocked off so no air can get in.

Dave, What kind of light iss on top of the rudder in the full sized plane. I just finished building a rudder from one of the laser kits in order to write some more of the instructions and wanted to put the right functional scale light on it. Dave

Dave, a word of caution, anything that sticks out from the surface will make it hard to glass the surface. It's better to leave these until after glassing. It's not impossible to glass, just harder. You will have to cut the cloth around the protrusion
before you apply the resin as the cloth will bridge the fillets of the protrusion. You want the cloth flat on the surface without wrinkles or bridges before you apply the resin so that you can squeegee almost all the resin off with a slick. Dave

Dave, in response to your phone call, I have 3 sets of plans, one complete fiberglass and cabin top kit and one laser kit left. The plans are $60, the fiberglass and cabin top kit is $160 and the laser kit is $400. All are plus shipping. I can make cabin tops if anybody needs just that for about $40 each but I'd have to order material which takes a week or two.

Oh My G*d!! The Baron has always been a favorite of mine. I have a "Hangar" ( 2 car garage) with a small airforce of 30 airplanes, and it is quite a treasure chest of a collection. A Baron is all that is missing!! Is this airplane available at all in a full kit? Dare I ask teamscalepilot if this bird would be for sale?

Teamscalepilot,I watched your baron build thru the last few years, you built a very beautifull baron!I to love the looks of the beechcraft baron.Im doing a smaller build of a G 58 on the form 1/2 a 1/8 scales here on rcu. What I was wondering if you offer a complete kit, fiberglass fuseloge, and wing, with all the neccessory other parts?Or to build your baron would I need to buy a top flight bonanza kit to start your baron build? I have a top flight bonanza now that is ready to paint, but since top flight does not make the bonanza ( so I was told)I was thinking of molding the fuseloge and wing, and building my own fiberglass parts,as I own a fiberglass shop. What is the wing span of your baron?Anyway keep up the beautifull work! Dennis.

We are still flying the prototype Barron 55 my a/c is in the finishing process, glassing and painting. Not monocote!!
We still have some kits in stock, check this thread for pricing. ( I know its 15 pages BUT its good reading and will answer all your questions. We have shipped 12 to 15 Barron kits to date.
I am planning to have mine ready for the 2010 SCALE NATS. It is a nice flying twin with NO nasty habbits!!!

It would be useful to see some detailed pictures of your exhaust system. Please! My kit is still on the shelf. I'm thinkiing of using the .61 os headers on the os .91's and fabing up an in cowl muffler. Seeing what you did in detail would help a bunch. Thanks.
