Alternate source for WW1 wheels and guns?
I'm itching to build Balsa USA's Nieuport 17, but I'm somewhat put off by the fact that you can no longer buy Williams accessories ( wheels and m/g's) for all these WW1 flying machines.
What are other builders doing about this? Does anybody know of another source for these items?

See thread on making your own wheels. Seriously, since the closure of WB, I've made a sports-scale Spandau and the prototypes for a couple of WWI style wheels. One is spoked and the other has a ply core. It's actually kind of satisfying to think that I'm mading the model from the ground up.

Dubro has released a couple of large sizes of WWI scale wheels that look like copies the Williams Bros. WWI wheels. I would guess they picked large sizes to support existing 1/6th and one-quarter scale models already on the market. AFAIK, they aren't releasing anything else that resembles the WB stuff.
They did NOT buy out Williams Bros. That much is a fact. A WWI modeler in Texas named Daniel Brett bought the company and is in the process of setting up to resume production of the old WB line. I would expect him to be back online within 6 months.
Which is GREAT news to all of us WWI scale fans.

BUSA makes the guns now for their 1/4 scale airplane kits . they look very well done. Dubro now makes their own scale 7"dia wheels in the WWI style. all this was shown at Toledo!!!

I don't know about the guns but badger41 is right about the Dubro wheels. I have a set of the 7" WW-I Dubro's on order and I received an e-mail from Dubro on April 15th saying the 7" wheels were released that day. Tower Hobbies now has them listed on their site under "New products".
