I have a Hanger 9 Piper Cub, 80" model, HAN1500, and I need a cowl and the wing struts before I fly it. I have checked with Hanger 9 and they don't have the parts. Maybe somone has these parts that would be willing to sell or trade them to me. Thanks for looking, Dwayne [sm=sunsmiley.gif]

See if you can order a cowl from Sig for its 1/5 scale Cub. I have both the H-9 80" Cub and the 1/5 scale Sig Cub.(kit # SIGRC82) The cowls are almost identical in size. Of course, the Sig does not have the cutouts for the prop hub or the air inlets, you'd have to do those yourself, and paint it, but that's fairly straightforward. Sig's cowl is fiberglass, as is the H-9.

As far as the wing struts go, they aren't functional on the H-9 plane, you can fly without them, but should be easy to make if you really want the scale appearance. Here's the instructions on the struts, straight from the Cub assembly manual:

I was able to order a new cowl thru my local hobby shop and only cost about $15.

As for the struts I made my own from KS aluminum (tear drop shape) with clevis on both ends

Try Great planes...their Cub 40 is nearly identical except for wing span. Their windshield is an exact fit and is stronger than the one supplied by H9. The other parts should not be too much different..
