A while back, just about when the new version was released, they advertised the originals for much less than the updated replacements.

I do miss the days when there were many 1/3 pups being built ... It seemed like there were always 2-3 underway. Some of the pup threads were posted to multiple times a day. Lately I believe the general mood on pups is that they fly great, but everyone is building less common planes. I also think planes with huge amounts of attractive paint schemes are hard to resist.

Maddog.. I am not sure what you have for the aluminum sheet.. but I have always cut the thin aluminum with a decent pair of scissors ..Don't use your wifes best set ! Also when cutting it do not close the scissors all the way just make half cuts and inch along.. that final closing will often make a nasty screw up on the cut.
I covered the sides of the plane and then once the aluminum was test fit, I used tiny screws to screw it on.. Took it back off... applied a little silicone to the back of the aluminum ..and reattached with the screws. If you space the screws out nice and be careful it looks really good.

Hey maddog, for what it's worth I cut the material like foodstick does - scissors or light weight metal shears, but I just screw the panels on - not glue needed.
Don't let the metal panels slow you down. On my last pup, for the maiden and the first event, the panels weren't even attached yet. But buy the second event it was looking good!
Your build is showing good progress to this point - don't stop now!
