Hi it's richard back, I flew my Great planes learjet (US Coast Guard) again yesterday with 3 inch wheels off grass and I had to force it off the ground with a wing stall, It then flew great and looked really good, but I came in a bit to fast, no damage. My second flight tip stalled at 10 feet and hit heavy wich is now repaired.
I have an SC52 installed (12 * 6 Prop ) and It needs a runway and not grass, I also have an appartment in Ft Lauderdale and I fly from markam park when I come over from england usally April, maybe I see you there juanpipito. Ill post some pictures when the sun comes out and I can take some. Don't go for a 46 engine it will not do it. Some pictures in my gallery

That looks great, thanks for pic's, I hope to be over in April, maybe I'll see you at markam park or I can call you, I have a Hype 3d and Glider at my appartment for flying, maybe I will bring over my learjet as well with the nice extension to the strip, it make me want to fly over now with everybody wearing shorts, we have just started putting on our winter clothes.

I recently finished my lear after having it for 10 years.I built it as per the plans, I installed an O.S 46 AX,and robart mechanical retracts. Now when I balance it as per the plans 6" from leading edge upsidedown it takes a lot of lead right on the elevator to make it balance level. I called G.P and they said there was a miss print on the C.G it should 5/13\16 back from the leading edge but this make no diffrence, the nose is still in the the dirt anyone have some sugestions to balance this plane or something I'm missunderstading I don't want to kill it on the first time out in hope it'll fly this way unless this is just how they are. This is not my fisrt plane but it is the first time I've had one build this far out of balance.

Hi Gang,

Sorry i have been out of this thread for a while now, Bill sorry for not posting pictures at that time but i will do it now, as a matter of fact i again changed my mind on flying my LJ but currently i am in process of getting another one which is basically stock built. I just can't take a chance on mine as its my very first kit build with modifications also.

Please forgive me if you don't like the scheme, its 10-11 years old model and it was painted then but though out the years it got slightly damaged too and somewhere along the time i took gear doors off from the aircraft. As you can these pictures were taken over 2 years ago now and its stored away at friends place currently...

Once i get my second one i will fly it with SK50, i am looking forward to flying Learjet after all these years...

My learjet needed some lead in the tail as well, but i balanced it as I was building, I put the battery in the rear and everything else I could, I think it was only about 3oz in total, and I have put a cockpit and pilot up front as well, when you do your first flight dont force it to fly, make sure you have enough ground speed first then slightly apply elevator, once in the air it flys like a trainer but lands fairly fast

Thank you for the input, guess it comes down to the nerve to try fly it. I'll just have to take lots of pics in case it fly's like a lawn dart.

hi pilot;
i have 2 things to say. i would like to build a kit if i was able to find one.

2nd. i have been weighing different engines for 2 years now. & i am using

k&b 61's & veco 61's as they weigh the same as an os 46fx/ax. more power

without adding weight.

glad to help. bill z. [email protected]

Aloha All,

Just picked one up off e-bay. Going electric with it. Just wondering what the max prop size would be. Also, what all up wieght are you getting.

This info will help me decide which setup to go with.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone still flying this plane? Would an os55ax engine work? What prop?

If you see my post above , i used an sc52 and 12*6 prop, it needs some speed before you attempt takeoff, good luck, its a heavy model, keep your speed up.
