Dave, I think you are remembering the Mohawk (2 actually) built by Dave Platt. I don't recall Ziroli having one. Platt has refused all offers to make the OV-1 plans available from what I have heard. Check out these folks for three different sizes of all foam Mohawks: http://www.vanvan.us./

Mohawk
About one year ago, I came across a web-site that had model plans of a later version of the Mohawk. I was thinking it from Russia. However, I went to the Russian Modeler's site and it is down as of today.
The plan was mostly scale 3-views, with a few sections and notes to build a model. It was in GIF or PDF format, so you would need to obtain software to view it and print it. I did not download it, as it was a HUGE file, and did not want to spend the time due to our bad internet service.
Is my memory going bad, or did some other reader remember this being available also?

As a good friend of Carlb (the guy from wisconsin) I know that his plans don't exsist. He draws over a set of 3-views using ModelCAD for plans, but only draws enough for him to build off of. He might be able to offer some advice though. He also tryed getting in touch with Dave Platt while building his. Dave was not very helpful and refused to send a set of plans. Good luck with your project, Carlb has found his Mohawk a pleasure to fly.

Dave's Mohawks
Dave didn't draw a set of plans for the Mohawk from which it could be built, he did a set of views and cross-sections and such, but not really a saleable set of plans.... the 100" Mohawk that went into the drink at Top Gun is currently being re-built by a local friend of mine, it is back in one piece, but due to long-term illness in the family, hasn't had time to work on it for quite a while, but he will getting back on it one of these days.... when he starts back on it, i'll get some new pics for the site, as the old ones he had were lost when he let his site go down.....

RE: Dave's Mohawks
no updates, haven't spoken with Jim lately, I am pretty sure that when he does get to work on it again, I'll hear from him..... or if he decides to throw in the towel on it, I might pick it up myself... the "Ziroli" thing that i think everyone is thinking about is the smaller, first Mohawk Dave built was in a mid-air with Ziroli's T-bolt.... it's on one of the crash videos, I have seen it...
The crash of the larger one that Jim has is also on one of those tapes, it is shown flying dirty, and it stalls, does a spin in one direction, recovers, then stalls & spins the other way & goes into a small water thing on the polo grounds..... If any new news comes up on it, I will certainly pass it along..... and if it comes up for sale, I will probably pick it up..... although i know he didn't get it cheap!

You will find some 3 view at the following sites, hope these help:
http://www.airwar.ru/other/draw/grum...1mohawkkf.html
http://www.suurland.com/ (search blue prints for mohawk)
I don't know of a scale plan, you may have to draw your own.

RE: Dave's Mohawks
When I was in cococ beach FL I went to an Air museum and video taped the whole plane maybe that might be of some use. I hope I did not tape over it...I will check when I get home. I can make you a copy if you cover postage only. I am sure I have an old tape it can go over. Just let me know
