If this is a kit, the instructions usually suggest an order to proceed. If it from plans, and you have cut the parts, it is a matter of preference on the order to proceed.
I like to do the tailfeathers 1st, then the fuselage and finally the main wing.

RE: bilding a Stol 801
this is not a kit, not a plan, it is a full scale plane i am trying to build a model of. I do buildmodels of plans and I know how to construct that way. what i am having trouble with is knowing where to start on the construction of the body and what to use (materieals). and partialy in the design of the construction being a scale model.

RE: bilding a Stol 801
hi
are some of the earlier photoes of the stol on zenithair in the model building section?
ok. I am new to scratch building planes but do know how they are constructed after having built my first plane, a piper cub from scratch of a plan. I picked up the building fast and good at improvising for structure. I want to build the stol 801 now and am confident I will. having not designed a plane from scratch before I need some help in what materials to use where, e.g. the struts in the cabin are metal and I want that to stay but with a wood fuselage and tailplane.
tell me if you make sense of this.

I just came from a long trip!!
I guess this type of airplane does not appeal too much to most modellers, but I love it for the way it flies..
The best way is to build your airplane with flat balsa sheets and wing conventional construction. You can find lots of info at www.zenithair.com Go to Zenith 701 page, click under drawing and materials. in that page you will find a subtitle that says "Resources for RC modelers" There you find a lot of stuff..
