What would you use to open and close bomb bay doors, what kind of hinges would you use ? Thanks

depends on the plane and the curvature of the doors, however robart makes an offset hinge that is often very useful. Many times you need to make your own custom hinges.

Bob Violet (BVM) makes offset hinges and air driven cylinders which work well for any door. Jet guys use the for gear doors.

We are putting bombays on our B-25`s and tried the option that came with the plans. That did not work so we changed and are using two ni-rods w/one servo. If you would like photos e-mail me. The Prez.

If the subject needs a piano hinge, Nelson Hobby Specialties has them. Perfect for bay doors. (Ziroli has them on his Avenger Torpedo bay)
