With shipping from south America, I think we will be In the 750-800 $ range. Seems very reasonable for a scale tri gear set, they will be electric actuated.
Finished glassing the fuse yesterday, alittle rainy today, so will do a bit filling and sanding or maybe do the canopy. The cockpit tub is basically done, so that is out of the way. Wing has been mounted to the fuse, so I could start working on the belly pan. ****, there's a lot off stuff to do. I try to post pics later today on some of this stuff.

Hi guys,
I have aquired the Project started by Vena in this build thread.
It is approx 80% ready built, but I have some issues here.
There seems to be missing some parts, but I am not sure what should be there.
More important is that the plans I received was all torn up and by no means Complete.
Anybody out there who can help me here?
I am working in Canada these days, if that makes it any easier to ship a copy.
I have emailed Mr Ostmeyer about purchasing a set of plans, but no response so far.

It's with great sadness that I can confirm John passed away in early September. While riding his motorcycle he was involved in an accident with another vehicle. This happened in late August. John suffered a severe head injury and passed away several weeks later. At the family's request John's passing was kept off social media. I do not have any information as to whether the T-28 kit line will continue. Honestly it's to early to tell.

Do you know how I can contact his Family?, I meet him by eMail back in 2008 when I was getting help from Hal Humphrey and John sent me some of his 3D drawings just to share his work, at that time I was working in one T-28 with 88" WS but I stoped due to the retracts issue, now I would like to get one of his plans and see if I can continue his work.
Thanks in advance

Hi folks!
I was shocked at the tragic death of John and it make me think about how fragile we life is...
but life and projects must continue.
I designed and built retracts set for John T-28 and like offer you guys the same conditions i agrred with John.
I can make each set for US$ 750,00 + shipping in lots of 5 sets.
Talk between you guys and form a group of at least 5 people and conatct me for details
Thank you so much
Douglas

That is shocking news about Mr. Ostmeyer passing. Haven't checked this thread much in the past year. Was just starting to google search for accessories as I was looking at my cowl earlier today. I noticed there is a different website; http://www.t-28-trojan.com/jot28build.html. Not sure if this was a new version he was working on or a site sponsored by a different source. Earlier today, somehow I got onto the original website from the past two years, the one I used to contact and purchase my plan set and cowl. If anyone knows the families intentions regarding the plans/kits, please share the information. I've already made a build copy set of my plans; I see others on here are looking for plans. If there are arrangements regarding the plans (copyright), I won't distribute.
Thoughts and prayers for the Ostmeyer family during the holiday season.

To all that have followed this Thread..... I'm battling cancer for the second time.... But life goes on!.... My thoughts..... Any discovery, achievement or tenacious effort by one, if not pursued by others, is forever lost. That makes the original effort irrelevant!
Just think, as an RC community, We can not let this happen. Johnnyo deserves better we deserve better. With the effort and hard work put into this project I'm sure his build is worth of a Top Gun invitation.... Let's see!
About me... building since I was 10... now 76 still think have one build left.... maybe two!!.... For the last several years have built and participated in Top Gun Team competition exclusively. Have had a mess of mishaps, but must keep on trying!!. My last entry for this year a 27% Hostetler Cessna 421C 11' W/S crashed at test...in the shop.... will be ready for next year..... Very successful in 2007 with a 30% Waco that won trophies and made the cover of RC magazines in GB, Italy and Japan.
Now.... if Johnnyo's build could be finished to the highest detail I would be willing to use it as my entry in Team. I will be invited to TG!, and forgo the Cessna for another day.... This are my thoughts, would have to work the details of work, entry requirements, ETC.
But we should give it a chance and keep the dream alive!. I would like someone close to Johnnyo to contact me with ideas... if mine is a bad one, we'll let it go!

I too have JohnnyO's T-28. It certainly would honor him with his design participating in Top Gun. Currently on the building board, I have a Charlie Kellogg TBM Avenger kit that I want to take to the Nats next year. Charlie also recently died. I want to honor him by taking his design and competing in the Scale event at next years Nats. Wish I had access to the anticipated landing gear set for JohnnyO's T-28. Good luck on your bid to fly his airframe. Hope to fly mine one day. Chic
