Not the best quality pics, but it sort of adds to the realism. Besides, there's not enough helis in this thread! Apologies for the tailrotor... fenestrons aren't available for this small a heli (TRex 450 w/ Align fuse, about 29" long)...

And now for the truly great shots... Not my heli, nor my photos, (I only hope that either of mine will someday reach this level) but they are exactly what this thread is about... scale photos of a scale masterpiece. [8D]

Just when you think you've seen it all along comes some outstandind pictures.
That dauntless from Navyt28... what a couple of brilliant, absolutely brilliant posts!
Then come RodanAZ with the choppers. Wonderful. What a great twist. They seem to present so much better/easier then a fixed wing.
Unless it's NavyT28 pushing the button of course.

Hello.
Here is my Pitts S2-A in scale 1/2.1 built from a kit from Exclusiv Modellbau in Germany,ZDZ-120 engine with Krumscheid canister mufflers and Futaba/Emcotec/Hi-Tec Radiogear.
It is the best flying plane I have had in 34 years of flying RC-Models,it handles perfect and I love that plane.
Best Regards
Henrik Hammer

Wow, the last helicopter post contains some fantasic images. Fully convincing...especially with the power lines in the background. May noy be, but I assumed it's one of those choppers used to work on powerlines The fact that it doesn't have the counter balanced weights on the main rotor helps a ton. Is that because it's a 3-bladed rotor, so doesn't need them? Just great.
Loved the "Canadian border" quip. Almost commented when the image was first posted but figured I'd give the guy a break and let some others "gastapo" this thread for a change.
Keep the good stuff coming guys!

Pilot must be slumped over in there. Where'd he go?
No pilot in an airborn shot is a definite no-no.
Your "do I dare?" lead-in tells me you somehow knew that.

The problem with Cubs is that they are sooooooooooooooo common that it takes either a really amazing model or a really amazing photograph to impress a jaded crowd like us. I think there was a Cub competing at TopGun recently and it was almost a bolt for bolt miniature replica. a truly amazing model but in ordinary photos it didn't look much different than any ARF Cub.
As for pilot-less aircraft, there are stories from WWI of pilots seeing "ghost aircraft" either an aircraft somehow cruising along on its own or seeing an aircraft "piloted" by a clearly dead pilot somehow stable and slowly flying off into the horizon.

Pilots add that extra level of detail.
The best part, they never complain and are always ready to fly.
This pilot was seen at Florida Jets in March of 08.
I call her "Pistol Packin Mama".

Nice shot Carl. Like the fact that the pilot's head and shoulders are away from the seat as was the natural position. Too many stiff pilots in alot of models with their heads plastered against the headrest.
