Ali's ME is off the charts, as well as Neil's photo of it. Thanks Neil.
I should be noted that it is a ginormous model, which helps the sell.
Man that thing sounds fantastic too.
Thanks Neil.

I know its anomalous as far as scale is concerned, but the Vamp landing with the corn behind it is a really cool shot.

That picture of the DVIII has more than one catches on first glance. It really does have an authentic WWI "feel" to it. Don't know if its the clouds or the terrain, which both work really well to sell it. The motion blur, although sometimes a negative aspect, gives it a real "in the moment" feel too. I'm sure its a nice bird too.

ZZ.

PS. a pilot would help.

Hi All,

I think this one'll make the grade! Trevor Wood's superb Corsair - complete with a 250cc 5 cylinder Moki + 3 blade Solo prop. Not only looks bloomin' good but sounds it, too!!!

Hi TJ,

I couldn't get much lower without going flat on my face[:-] 1D iv + 300mm f2.8 with a x1.4 TC on it - that's some serious weight to keep your balance with. The Corsair was taxi-ing out for take off.

Neil

That's the point of this thread Neil... shot the pic' so the model appears full size.
Does that make sense?
That head on Jug shot you posted in the flying thread would be more akin IMO.

That is some serious weight, and firepower !

I'm taking the 70-200 f2.8 on my 7D to the JWM along with a 5DmkII and wide angle lens for some interesting closeups . I'll be using a Camera Slingers strap to have both cameras handy without tiring my arms too much.

Hi David,

I understand perfectly where you're coming from, but what if I were in the control tower or something similar looking down at the aircraft. If we were being really pedantic - what about the height grass around the tyres of some of the models? I think the models should be appreciated for their realism, not their surrounding. I really don't want to open old cans of worms - if the picture isn't wanted on this thread I'll take 'em somewhere else. Its not my thread, so its up to you guys - you tell me. Yea or nay!

TTFN,
Neil

Your image is perfectly acceptable here Neil. I see nothing wrong with it. Certainly a lower angle of shooting would be more in line with a photographer standing at ground level, but your explanation is perfectly acceptable too. Please keep posting.

Thanks, TJ. The only way I was going to get a lower angle shot was to lay down & the ground was still soaking wet from an early Saturday morning downpour! I have another picture of the Corsair taking off & you can clearly see all the water running off the trailing edges.

TTFN,
Neil

Keep posting Neil! Yes the shot angle was a little high, but your photography is always so great that I want to see them anyway.
There would have been a problem if the shot hadn't met some criticism. That's what makes the thread so great.

VNulk,

YES ! your C.II photo does work for this thread. Thanks for playing along I do believe that you understand what this thread is all about. {{{To take (or make) a photo of a scale model plane or helicopter in such a way as to make us think / believe that we are looking at a full-size aircraft.}}}

So, I say to you, BRAVO ...it's an excellent effort. More please

Thank you RC for your comments. I do apologize for not blocking up the plane to get it out of the turf. I'll have to remember that.
