Best scale photo!

RE: Best scale photo!
Hi Mustang,
funny if an American fears to be "Nazi" when replying to a post by a German...
But let me be a litte "Germanic"here, that is, apply the precisision that we're known for: By no means have I lowered the standard of this thread with my proposition. I have said that Idon't mind seeing pictures of model as models IF, and only IF in that SAME POSTpictures are posted, that MEETTHESTANDARD: Logically this means that the standard of at least one picture has to stay EXACTLYTHESAME! How is that lowering the standard? If you can't post a picture that meets the standard, you'll still get hell by the "Thread Nazis" as you call them - rightfully so. I am just saying that if someone posts a couple of real nice scale pictures that make us believe that we're looking at a full size airplane AND then - in the next shot - reveals something else about the model taking the risk of seeing it for what it is - that'll be ok and not worth tearing apart..
Cheers, Martin

Nice shots Mark and Neil.
Nice shots Mark and Neil.
Neil - Nice set! The last three look especially realistic to me. Nice light too.
LT - Nice shot you have there.

Here are a couple of my 1/3 Waco on it's last flight about 5 minutes before it's demise. Building a new fuselage now
One showing the aftermath, hard lesson learned of getting too slow on final.
Wish I had a program to crop pics.

Sometimes an "Um..." is worth a thousand pictures.
Off topic, that looked like a real nice Waco 'Nut.
Love that landing light.
Great shame.
Hopefully the rebuild is going well.

Rebuild is going well,
I have a new zoom lens for my camera so this spring I will get some better pics of the Waco. Hopefully with plenty of sky beneath it. The plane looks really good in the air.

I agree, great Taylor Craft shot.
Waco - that's too bad. It is a great looking plane. Hope it's back in the air soon.
Here's a landing approach of Carl bachhuber's Canadian Convair 580

Wow. Great shot Mark! Guess you weren't worried about getting run over.

Actually it's a bit of an optical illusion. I was sitting just off to the side of the runway with a long lens and then I skewed the runway in photoshop to provide the angled look.
Thanks for the comment.

That last one of Neil's is a most interesting subject from the back end. And with cool afterburner light rings. Post one of those Neil.
Happy New Year everyone!!!

No problem, SDC - my pleasure. The Lightning has to be one of the most accurate models I've ever come across. There was a guy there who worked on them and he was very impressed with it. Even the way the undercart retracts is 100% accurate
Happy New to you all,
Neil

RE: Best scale photo!
Some great models here and some great photography, I would like to humbly add my plane. .60 size Royal/Marutaka Corsair, photo taken by good friend Ron just last weekend. The last detail I need to add is the scale prop, but I think it presents itself pretty good for a 60" wingspan Corsair if I do say so myself.

Hi Zippi,
I love that Airplane (have it myself driven by a Saito twin 182).
As for the picture: Great Shot. May be even a bit too low. If you we're to approach the full size and given you are of average height, your forehead would probably about touch the leading edge... It's a small aircraft...
happy new year (which has already happened where I am...)

RE: Best scale photo!
Love those extra shots of those two planes Neil - Excellent!
Diony - Nice Corsair, and yes, I do think it presents itself well especially in the last shot. The photo is a bit soft, but not unlike what would have been taken with cameras during the period.
Here's my final entry for 2012. A 170" B-26 Maurader by Paul LeTourneanu. Happy new year eveyone!
