RE: Best scale photo!
I think Mustang51 has left the building........
It appears there are many who perceive this to be a thread about photos of the best scale aircraft. NOT SO!
What was originally intended, was to show photographs that were taken from the viewpoint of a scale photographer, one that matches the scale of the chosen plane subject. This means figuring in advance, the height from the ground that your photographer would be, then shooting from that viewpoint.
Also, eliminating anything in the selected view that conflicts with the scale of your aircraft. Cut the grass down to scale height. No photos inside your work area. Even choosing the area on a paved surface that doesn't have giant cracks, or other things that would break the 'spell'.
You can also add scale items, like wheel chocks, an access ladder, remove-before-flight ribbons, even a scale outside hangar wall, behind your plane. Add a scale person-sized door to the wall, perhaps a couple of windows, to really make the illusion complete. After all, we are scale modelers!

RE: THINK
No Cannonball... I'm here. Just gett'n real tired of these indiscriminate photo postings.
SO...
And once again for those "tuning-in" late...
The idea of this thread is as follows...
I guess now's a good time to re-post those photo guidelines...
I'll do this every now and then so everyone is up to speed.
The photos should be the following...
A) The aircraft modeled must be that of an actual aircraft.
B) The model should be a "SCALE" model.
meaning...
It should look like the aircraft that is being modeled. If the real plane had strut and wheel covers... so should the model(it should'nt have music wire struts). There should be no rx antennas showing in the photo. If the real plane had a 3 or 4 blade prop, and this is a picture of that plane(model) on the ground? Then the model should have a 3 or 4 blade prop, not a Zinger 20x10. etc...etc.
Think of this as a kind of "Top Gun" of photo threads.
And finally, that brings us to the most confusing of the requirements of the photo.
...C) The photo should be "of an angle that you would actually be photographing the real aircraft" or "as the eye perceives it"
...meaning...Don't post the picture of that beautiful Mustang with a guy holding it during engine run ups.
Thanks to all for participating...it's going great.

TRY AGAIN!!!!
Holly CRA#,
If you could only get a lower ANGLE, and not have a
person standing in the way of the shot.
You don't realize ,,,, Go take a another picture.
Use the OLD Fashioned filter and get a lower Angle at the same time as making sure there is not a giant in the background and you WOULD
WOULD WOULD Be a winner. Atleast to all of my knowing.
Trust me you can't loose by taking another pic.

RE: TRY AGAIN!!!!
Forgetting about, or trying to ignore, parts of photos that make them innapropriate for this thread is the reason there are other threads to post pics on.
How much more clear does it have to be spelled out for you?
Does Mustang51 have to remind everyone of this threads guidelines every other post now or what.
I just can't take it anymore.
C'mon people...get it together!
I know that you all understand rules somewhat as I don't see you posting park flyer stuff in the Jet section. This is absolutely no different.

RE: TRY AGAIN!!!!
I think some people are posting non-scale pictures in this thread just to get a reaction from the purists.
That picture with the huge 747 is so cool. It would be a shame not to be included because of the pilot and on-board camera. I did a photoshop job it also.

The F-15 pic is a trick, it is actually a full scale F-15, shot from a lift , so I guess these purist arguements are not so pure!

RE: I've tried
so why the hell is it here?
even so how many people would go to a airshow and see the F-15 from a lift?
i think we've had the cream of the crop, and now we're just down to the stupid people.
about time a mod went through this thread, took out all the rubbish ( thats a big job ) and lock it.
