David Hayes on takeoff with his scratch built 1:4.5 scale Rockwell Thrush crop duster. Hidden in his radial engine is a Saito 1.80 four-cycle. Can you spot it? The weight is 29 pounds with a span of 108 inches.

Terry Nitsch earned second place in the expert class at Top Gun 2005 with his BVM F-100F. Here he is on taxi back after a smooth flight. Terry uses an AMT-450 turbine in this 40 pound aircraft.

Justin Sands has the canopy raised and the drag chute deployed on his 1/6 scale F-100D while taxing back from his landing at Top Gun 2005. Justin uses a Jet Cat P120 turbine in this 35 pound aircraft. The wingspan is 69 inches and it was built from a BVM kit.

John and Phil.
Thanks for posting photos which represent the epitome of what this thread is about.
If anyone out there doesn't know what a scale photo is, simply look at the above pics over and over.

Sleddriver, sure would like to see some larger, more detailed images on those two great looking birds.
Tom,
Give me a break Mr. Pierce. You've already proved your meddle up in here. I really wish that these kind of "in operation" photos existed of the SBD...especially in the quality and resolutions that these guys shoot at. Still breaks my heart.
Anything "scale" in the works?
Paul

I don't take any pictures myself but I receive several that deserve to be submitted here. I'll try to name the photographer but often the name gets lost in the shuffle. If I don't post a name and you recognize the pic please give credit where credit is due.
enjoy!!

My Waco cabin bipe coming in through the clouds.
This plane is powered by a throttled Cox .020 and has a 23" span.
I've also attached a picture of the full scale.

Beautiful work John. The Y/A twin Hornet is without a doubt, the baddest beast in the RC skies and Lou's id just awesome. BUT...you have got to post your pic here of the PCM L1011 that you shot at Fresno. One of the most convincing scale photos ever IMHO. I was shocked at the overall depth perception and focal length. Very convincing.
