Hey Flyer in Oklahoma City,
great panel! just two observations - and I am being really, really picky here, just for fun ;-)
1. Why do you have two carburetor heat levers in a single engine aircraft?
2. you can't turn the tank selectors to mains. The levers will bind with the carburetor heat levers... and are there really two tanks?
Looking forward to pictures of the finished airplanes!

got it! Yes, I see now - the tank levers go down, not up and it says there clearly: "main" and "reserve", hence the two levers.
Learned something here!
As for the carb heat: Maybe they had double carburetors on their engines? Could be... Anyhow, learned something again...
I have the feeling that if we keep the discussion up like this, by the end of it I will have checked out on that beautiful Ryan. (btw: I wanted to call my son Ryan but my wife vetoed it ;-) )

Some pics from this weekends Luskintyre Scale Rally held about two hours North of Sydney.... I managed to get lots more good 'model' shots but I'm thinking these 'hopefully' fit into the theme of the thread.... Triplane is 1/3 scale Evolution radial, Tiger Moths are 1/4 scale, Gypsy is 1/3 scale, Triplane and Gypsy built by Robert Zyp the former flown by Craig Bryson who added the radial engine (I believe he has also visited Top Gun in the US a couple of times) and the Gypsy flown by Robert himself. I included the 1/4 scale cub because I liked the effect of the smoke into the sun with shadows from the tailplane...

Ram-bro, that is a French SPAD A2 I believe... the propeller is behind the gunner; in between the gunner and leading edge of the wings... you can't see the prop because its in a position the camera didn't pickup on.

Its there if you look hard enough... the prop is pointing at 11:00 O-clock if looking at the nose... just a subtle amber blur... nice looking biplane!

Yes the French had some interesting designs... that poor gunner, he defines the definition of "dead weight"; he's very vulnerable stuck so far forward like that, lets hope his aim is better than the other guys, .

My home field, Arizona Model Aviators, had its 27th Annual Arizona Jet Rally this last weekend. There was an amazing Skymaster F-16 in attendance. Looked real enough to me!

ok then, haven't posted in years...
Both owned and flow by my club mate, Arnd... first the huuuuuge Airworld F-104, next the big Scale-Jets F-16. Both absolutely the best of their kind: There simply is no better Starfighter and there simply is no better F-16 on the market!
The F-16 landing - well it appears as if it was landing on grass - but that's an illusion because you can't see the beginning of Runway 25 at Nörvenich (ETTN). This military air base just close to my home town, Cologne, is in the middle of grass fields....
However, here's a detail to look out for: Look at the profiles of the Starfighter's wings and tail surfaces! Now, you can take wonderful pictures of scale model jets on the ground with all the illusionist's ideas that you can come up with. But if the wings and tails are too thick - well.. That F-104 model, though: you could shave with that horizontal stab! that's how thin it is!

There are other models of other aircraft I personally like better, but in terms of the (original) criteria for this thread, I have to agree with you. A flawless model, with perfect presentation, and fantastic photography. This could be on the cover for a full-scale Cub brochure. (I just wish it were a larger photo so I could appreciate it in all its glory.)
