Default J-3 Cub 25 ARF?

I've been searching for a good quality 25 size arf for the J-3 CUB. Everything I've found so far are arfs set up for electric power. Call me old fashioned and set in my ways, but I'm a nitro nut! Does anyone know of anything out there and where I can find one? I would appreciate it.

Modeltech makes a .25 j3. It's "stand way off " scale though. Won't win any competitions. It's fun to fly, just watch control throws on the elevator....it will snap. Make sure you have plenty of speed before rotating. It's a "clipped wing" variety and no floater, but surprisingly aerobatic. Most catalog pictures of this arf show it silver in color, but I've only seen them come out of the box the traditional cub yellow.

i'm flying a e-flite cub with a saito 30! lots of fun. i added some scale touches that really sets it off. i'll post some pics this weekend. great built liitle airplane i must add. currently flying with floats and has enough power to fly off grass with the floats on! going to the river tomorrow and bringing along so we'll try to get some float flying pics too.

I know what you mean by the 'stand way off' scale appearence of the modeltech cub. The size is right but the looks are disapointing.

The e-flite 25 cub, me likey. I recently talked to the owner of one of the local hobby shops and we discussed converting this plane to nitro. I'm looking forward to checking out the pics when you post them. The float plane is 'my cup of tea'. My brother has a 35 acre lake in his back yard. Any tech specs on the conversion would be appreciated as well. Thanks

E-flite J-3 Cub 25 with a Saito 30......has not flown yet. Perhaps next weekend. Just wrapping up the details.

Jeff,
It would be intersting to compare notes on the build/mod. CG issues, tank, etc.

as much as i hate too i decided last weekend to sell the cub. it's too much trouble getting back and forth to the lake in the boat. i just know someone is going to fall on it or step on the wing not knowing what it is. skeetereater if your interested let me know before i post in the sale ad's. i would put the landing gear back on and keep in the trailer but there is not enough room and i already have two quater scale and one third scale cub in there now. jeff[&o]

Jeff, are you selling it rtf with wheels and floats? How much time on the saito? What your price? Monroe is a little to far to drive from Beaumont and I'm not sure about shipping. Let me know before you put in the ad. Might be able to work something out. Rick Wilson

yes i want to sell rtf, with the floats and the gear. it has hitec hs-81 servo's, hitec hs-81 metal gear on the elevator , hitec micro reciever and 4.8 battery. the little saito 30 has almost 1/2 gallon ran through it. it has 8 flights on the floats and about 6 on the gear. the elevator linkage is concealed in the fuse, as i do on all my planes. i also added the pull-pull and flying wires on the tail. i tried to make it look as good as i could for an arf! i spent right at 500 putting it together so 300 is my bottom dollar. if you are interested i will be at a boat race in westlake, louisiana on june 2-3. that should be about an hour for you. thats usually the same weekend as the warbird fly-in in sulpher. let me know what you think, jeff.

Jeff, if you would take 300 I would drive to Westlake. You can reach me by email at [email protected] or by cell ph (409)201-2085. I'll get directions from you before the races. Let me know of any change in plans. See you in Westlake. Rick Wilson alias skeetereater
