Brian here from Royal Heritage Farms. Would you be interested in selling the p-61 kit. I have been laser cutting pieces for these kits.. I would pay decent money and give you the prototype pieces for free. You still can built the kit with my laser cut pieces and an original kit is still in collectors form, and you have money in your pocket to boot. It is something to think about.

I figured this thread would be the best place to post:
I have an NIB Royal Piper Colt Sr. with matching cockpit kit for sale.
The kit and cockpit are both complete and in the original box.
The previous owner accurately started the vertical stabilizer and rudder.
I will entertain reasonable offers; you Royal guys know how rare this kit is.
I know I will regret selling it, but I need to fund another project.
The photos shown are the actual kit that I'm selling.

Just found this thread and this seems to be the place for info on Royal kits!
I'm looking for a source for reproduction canopies and cowls for a Royal B-17 and P-61. Also looking for a reputable source for plans (there are quite a few listed on e-bay). Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
p.s.; I have Royal B-25 and Staggerwing (both NIB) in my kit collection. I'm not touching them right now as I have too many project in the queue ahead of them.

I bought plans and instructions for a Royal F-4 Phantom and 2 cowls for a Royal B-25 from a seller on e****y goes by u.s.wing. He also has a store you can visit there that shows just about everything he has. Very quick shipping, quality pretty good, plans were good. Fiberglass Specialties has been around for years in Arkansas, sells cowls and canopies for many kits. I have a cowl for a Midwest AT-6 kit that is of very good construction - not cheap, but little better quality than the auction guy.

In my case, when I purchased the kit, surprised to find out the aluminum cowls were already cut for a 2 stroke, so I bought 2 new fiberglass uncut in case I ever wanted to build this (???) and put 4 strokes in.

checked the uswing listing and he doesn't have any cowl's or canopy's listed there were several just a couple of weeks ago, so that doesn't mean he won't be selling any more of them its June some of us actually go on vacations during the summer or have jobs other than be a ebay seller

HI,I have a Royal Beachcraft Staggerwing kit from 1978 but it is missing the plan.
It is 56 in span for 60-80 1.75-1 scale,i am greatfull for any help.

I have many of the un-built kits, both Royal and Maratuka. I'll never live long enough to build them all.
Yes, they are a challenge to build, but the end results are very nice.

from what I understand of them Royal and Marutaka are the same kits, the Royal brand was sold through a company in Colorado with some differences in the plans being printed in English, and some differences in labeling on the boxes otherwise there the same kits

You understand correctly. And Royal included decal sets that Marutaka did not supply. The company in Colorado did sell "Royal" but I believe it was after the Royal/Marutaka factory burned down, with all of the Royal/Marutaka product and support. I believe that the Colorado company sold "reproductions", essentially.

You are both right. I first remember Royal kits being offered by Tower Hobbies. There appeared to be 2 sizes of most models. The
line disappeared after a few years, and then reappeared. The company was in Colorado as you as you say, but it also dryed up and the kits disappeared. I too had heard that the company was Marutaka and the kits were kitted under the name Royal, Again I heard that the factory had burned down and Royal Kits were to be no more. As far as I know, both are beautiful kits and are well designed. I am also sure that there were certain kits that were never offered as Royal kits but only as Marutaka. I see that you are both located in California. i am originally from Oakland and lived in Alameda.

Do you remember the hobby shop in Oakland. If memory serves, it was either on Broadway or Telegraph. It might have been called Toms Hobbies? I remember going there in the early 70's with my dad where he let me pick out the 1/8 Royal Corsair. I still have the kit, but it was damaged by mice. I was amazed at the huge $89 price tag.
