Chad and Nick,

Thank you both for your uploads on the plans....they're both great!!

If you notice... royal/marutaka often "ghosted" the true profile of the subject model on the plans. In the case of the KI-61 it looks like they kept the fuse profile exact and slightly enlarged the wing and horz tail, yet stayed very true to outline/shape. Very cool indeed!

Hi Lee, sorry to barge in on this thread, but the few last PM's I've sent you don't show in the sent box, did you get them ?

There could be a problem with my PM box. Try my email: [email protected] Thanks V.

Sorry guys

Did royal (Marutaka) ever market a Jungmeister kit? From what I remember, my dad had one years ago but never flew it. Maybe a 60" - 65" wingspan?

Don't believe they did, but Pica made one that size and a larger size also I think. It was originally a Dave Platt design like many of their scale kits.

This was before Pica. The kit was manufactured circa 1968. I recall all the parts were cut by bandsaw and grouped in plastic bags.

There is a new kickstarter campaign to obtain a laser cutter, plotter, and finish a vacuum forming machine to provide airplane short kits, full kits, and R/C and standard rocket kits. You can see it at http://kck.st/1miw2oj
There is a wide variety of airplanes available. There are more cool products coming from Scale Aerospace in the near future.

Dave Platt Models sold them before Pica bought the designs. Maybe it was one straight from him?

Nope, this was before Dave. Sid Gates is on here, I'll ask him. He was one of the principals in Royal Products.

Hi Ted, if you get no response or help regarding your wing rib request you can go to the site below and order an AT-6 wing in foam. Now, they don't have a match for the Royal kit but they do have 4 different manufacturers' replacement wings that you may be able to use.

http://www.eurekaaircraft.com/foamwings/wing-a.htm

Scroll down to AT-6

Don

I know airplanes are swatted by trees and the ground jumps up and grabs them, what gets the R/C boats, fish, sea monsters, or gangs of marauding algae?

FYI: I just reluctantly listed my Marutaka Cessna Skymaster kit in RCU ads. I have too many projects in the works and will probably never get around to building it, so it should go to a good home!
